Exactly. For a player of his quality of course he'd want to win major trophies. He says he doesn't regret signing for Chelsea but that's a lie. Every great player desires to play alongside great individuals and Liverpool weren't making top class signings and Chelsea were on the rise. So, yeah. He has regrets not joining Chelsea, he just doesn't say it out loud.
+Jan I don't think it's regret. More wishful thinking maybe. But not regret. Think of players like Totti at Roma or Shearer at Newcastle. They could have gone on to bigger clubs and won things bit wouldn't have the satisfaction of being at their home clubs. They certainly don't regret their decisions. Just like Stevie G.
Being from Liverpool we feel the connection with the club more than most teams. For example much like Gerrard I would much rather win one or two trophies with Liverpool than 5 with Chelsea or city or anyone else

As a united fan you feel compelled to dislike any Liverpool player.. and in most cases thats what happens.. but with Gerrard you just can't help but admire his passion. It's what any club wants in a captain. In his prime, and team in the world would have loved Stevie G in their changing room

One thing I notice about Gerrard is when other player talk about him, they all speak with admiration and respect, look at the way Rio looks at him, never cutting him short, but very keen to listen what makes this great player so great. It's funny to see even older players look up to him so much. He was loved by all. It's said a lot about players, but he is a legend of a man. He will win the title one day with Liverpool, as manager.
The people mentioning his slip against Chelsea are just utter bell ends, look at his past, his career at Liverpool was just legendary. This is coming from an Everton fan, and if you feel you have the right to say he's not a legend you clearly have no knowledge of football. Goodbye :)

At the time, the slip was really funny for me. But actually when I thought about it, I felt really bad for Steven Gerrard. For a player to dedicate his entire career to his boyhood club, he deserved to win the league that year. But as he said, the slip did occur at the most crucial of occasions and it was really cruel for him to take the piss from literally the entire world.

Stevie does not need to make any amends. He gave it all for the shirt. He gave more for the club than any player has ever given to anyone in history. He is and will remain by far and away the greatest footballer to have played on British soil. He is the only player to have literally confirmed and reiterated that he would die for the club. If and when Liverpool employs the man, it is the club that is doing a huge favour rather than the other around.

I think the Chelsea game in 2014 came at a horrible time. So near to the end and needing some help from other teams, Man City to drop more points, to get a bit of luck. But Chelsea at that time under Mourinho were such a strong team, bouyed up by the rivalry. It was such a shame for Gerrard, such a pity for Liverpool.
