I never knew Tori did a cover of Live to Tell!! I'm a Tori fan and when I was 8 or 9, I was a Madonna fan. True Blue came out and Live to Tell was the saddest song I ever heard and I LOVED IT because I was a ....morose child. Now I learn there is an amalgamation of two of my favourite things...Live to Tell and Tori ❤️
i love how she turns the song Live To Tell into a much more emotional song, specially when she sings the "If I ran away, I'd never have the strength to go very far..." part
I do enjoy when an artist covers another artist's work, and find completely different nuances that your ear didn't previously hear. If you haven't heard Tori's version of Britney Spears Baby One More Time, it really is remarkable how it has moments of being vulnerable and sad - something I wouldn't say exists in Spears version.
