  • The owner wanted to change the 3-way selector switch on his Epiphone ES-339 from stock to a Switchcraft model. The same process can be used on an ES-335, Les Paul or SG guitars from Gibson. In fact, on any guitar with a 3-way switch, for that matter... enjoy the video!

I changed the bridge, tailpiece, posts and wiring loom on my inspired by Gibson es-335. It made a huge difference. Even better when I installed some Gibson custombuckers I picked up in the January sales. A real test of patience though!

I have an 2017 Epiphone ES-339 and it had an intermittent switch issue. Deoxit fixed my issue

I have the same year ES 339 with the same problem. Like with yours it has the same intermittent switch problem that shows up if it sits unused for a while. Air or Deoxit fix it for a while, but I think what it really needs is a better switch. I guess it’s good to see that it’s a common problem?

@@msspi764 since I treated it, it hasn’t showed up again (blind luck maybe?). It tends not to sit long and it’s part of my regular rotation of guitars so maybe that helps.

Recently picked up an Epiphone Casino and the switch was faulty the first time I used it, but has been fine since. I just don’t like the play/sloppiness of it now, so I’m going to replace it. Plus, the output jack keeps coming loose, so probably going to replace that as well. I think I need to use wire/string method to fish that one out. Not as enthusiastic to do that on a hollow body though. It’s all working, but annoys the hell out of me the way it is now. Not sure if I should just replace everything at this point while I’m in there.
