Hey Guys! Hope you enjoy! Tab: www.patreon.com/posts/take-five-solo-97646229?Link&
It’s take more than the tabs to be able to play this 😅
Good to see you posting again maestro!
Thank you! Is the tab also available without patreon?
Yea right like tab is what we need to play it..
Will try to play it without tabs at first
Amazing arrangement ! Is that a double top guitar you have ?
Dude is from an other world. He improvised while playing the bass line which is in 5/4 time signature without any mistakes. And then he played the drum solo 'on the guitar' while still playing the bass line!
Its not improvised i think. But off course never the less absolutely insane stuff
You're right. It's an excellent reproduction of Paul Desmond's original solo.
So wonderful what peoples can do. Take that a.i.
He's not improvising, but that does not mean that we he does...is incredibly insane!
he plays the trumpet solo not an improv, this is nonetheless incredibely impressive
thank you. I’m sitting here in a giant hospital in JAPAN, 69 years old, recovering from triple bypass open-heart surgery and thinking about how I would really like to get home and get back to practicing again after seeing this. I’ll dedicate a video of me playing Albeniz to you, Lucas. Thanks for all of the inspiration over the years.
UPDATE: thank you so much to everyone who wrote such encouraging comments. This week I got back to work on my recording projects after I discovered the Zoom R4 digital recorder/interface. I will be launching my new CZcams channel in the coming weeks.
I too was in a hospital bed watching this for the first time! In recovery now. Hope you are recovering too... This is phenomenal isn't it? ❤
Hope you get better soon and enjoy getting back to playing. X
I hope you have a quick recovery, and I’m very happy I could inspire you!! All the best ❤
i wish you a speedy recovery :)

Harmony ✔️

Joe Morello drums solo at guitar ✔️ 👀
Thanks for this great piece!
Lucas is the only guitarist I’ve ever seen who can play Take Five on guitar whilst faithfully retaining the rhythmic, harmonic and melodic flow of the wonderful Dave Brubeck Quartet recording. And I’ve seen ‘em all! Sheer brilliance.
Maybe I am wrong, but I thought the original was by Paul Desmond.
@@hl4468 Paul Desmond was part of the quartet, he is the composer of this one though.
psssss.... what are you saying... Naudo Rodriguez is the daddy of fingerstyle.... check him out... czcams.com/video/FyRMKrQxCP0/video.html
@@silphv Thanks for the info!
@@hl4468 np I had just looked it up, I didn't actually know a lot about this song before
As a guitarist myself, this performance tied my brain in knots! Incredible arrangement AND performance! Thank you!
What effs with my head in this kind of arrangement is when they have a rhythm pattern going, then start playing a melody OVER the rhythm… without altering the rhythm. Like at 0:06 in this piece… holy shit… 🤯😅
When technique and musicality do not come at the expense of soul. This is the most beautiful performance I have heard of this piece.
I agree 👍
With all that business, he played it slightly faster tempo as well.
Man im so glad to be alive xxtankfly
Insane level of articulation, clarity of all voices, musicality. Hats off!
Hats off? Never.
fuuucking hell Lucas, that's one of the hardest things you've uploaded. respect for arranging this mess and then playing it perfectly.
Lucas, I'm so happy to be seeing videos from you again. Your arrangements are always shockingly brilliant. Thank you for sharing your talent and hard work. 🙂
Thank you for listening!
The Desmond solo, and then the Morello solo!? Such a fun listen. Thanks, Lucas!
good heavens - you transcribed piano, sax, and drum solos - and then simultaneously played on guitar! praise.
You classical guitarists are definitely from another planet. I couldn’t play that if I had 10 fingers on both hands. Brilliant 👏👏👏👍
D-Day is here, he posted 2 videos...
You mean lucky day?
La canción esta en re..D .
Never surrender!
SCARY, isn't it? I hope it's not terminal.
A legend like this can upload whenever he fucking wants. \s
This is so smooth. Finally someone did this classic justice.
Yes indeed, a truly worthy interpretation.
My favourite jazz standard of all time, played to perfection? Yes please.
I'm in awe.
This is when you really love a musical piece! I can tell right away .
This is INSANE, the original solo almost note for note AND the drum solo. FANTASTIC playing.
Damn. The percussion! I'm in awe!
Dude. That was out of this world... I couldn't imagine this being played with only 1 guitar but you did it
This is "Take five" in our face :) Excellent !
I'm impressed by your playing style more than by anyone else.
Much love from Kyiv.
I think you have jumped up and reached another level. Good to see that excellent players do keep progressing
What a wonderful way to start my day. Coffee, Jackie the cat on my lap and a fantastic rendition of Take Five.
The Gene Wright bass underneath, Brubeck accompaniment, Desmond solo (and articulation, wow) and keeping it going with the Morello drum solo nod in the middle. Clever, creative, well done.
Brilliantly arranged and played! I love Brubeck's 5/4 Take Five.
It's actually paul desmond (brubeck's sax player) that wrote it
@@alexdelascasas thanks. I never looked it up, but Lucas wrote in the very first frames on the video. As I myself used to write music, I believe that credits to the composer is very important. Once again thanks for the correction.

Your talent combined with the dedication and discipline to your art is undeniable. It's an absolute joy and pleasure to watch your hard work on display.
I appreciate that❤
Many comments I agreed with and liked, but it's you, with whom I agree the most. Yes. The combination of talent and dedication on display here is what takes the breath away.
Bravo
From Brubeck to Metallica, your playing is absolutely mesmerizing. Thank you for posting.
This is another level of genius. I can't imagine the tons of work and talent needed to achieve this masterpiece so easily, huge thanks !
NO WAY!!! I’ve been working on a version of this for a couple of weeks now! This was fantastic, nice job!
The shock and awe I experienced prevents me from finding better words to describe what I've just had the pleasure to witness. Magnificent Lucas, and *Legendary* .
OMG, that's the most absolutely insane Take Five performance on guitar ever played!!
That's overwhelming! Sounds like whole Brubeck's quartet playing right in front of you. Great!
@@T_ELEG_RAM_official_Lucas_brar bring it on
Man you are CRAZY good at this. You rly have a shot at the GOAT discussion.
Literally the first jazz track I ever really listened to. God I love it
totally my respect great musician God bless you.***
What a standard ...and a talented arrangement and playing.
What a versatile player, your version is so rich in variety!
The record that introduced me to Jazz and changed my life. Excellent arrangement Thanks. i could listen to you all night .
Gave me the big band feel from a soloist! Bravo!
This was the first song I learned that was not in 4/4 on the sax. An absolutely magnificent rendition.
Brilliant. Love the Tommy Emmanuel style percussion.
That's what I'm talking about, high precision, crisp sound, incredible technicality, smooth transitions, dynamics, phrasing, EVERYTHING IS JUST PERFECT! Another Prodigious arrangement of yours my friend.
Great work and huge respect 👏
Greetings from Georgia🇬🇪
Another absolute smasher, Lucas. Holy shit. You've outdone yourself here.
I have played this on a loop since release and never get bored.
Of the guit players I have heard, Dude, you are easily one of my all-time favs. Just Wow!
He's one the best in the world, in my opinion. (Not that that counts for anything.) I wish Chet was still alive to grant Lucas a 'Certified Guitar Player' certificate.
@@7137271 I agree 100%. Take care amigo!
you transcribed his whole solo into a guitar arrangement pretty sick
It seems to me that each of your fingers has its own little (actually, not so little) brain. I don’t know how else this masterful arrangement could be otherwise executed. Absolutely incredible!!!!
I wouldn't believe this was possible if I didn't see it with my own eyes. UNREAL.
You are one of the best CZcamsr musicians out there, man. Love your videos. Always keep them coming! I’d love to hear an album from you someday. Your playing and arrangements are top notch.
Holy crap I love this. So glad you're back, brother.
One of the best covers i have heard in a long time.
This is just so good, absolutely unreal playing
What a fantastic arrangeent! Beautifully played too. Thanks Lucas
Stunning rendition of a classic song.
This is one of the most amazing things i've ever seen and heard
Take it from a semi-pro guitarist who would have to study at least a month to play this - Lucas is super talented. I knew within seconds his arrangement would be great from start to finish - it is - but the drum solo being arranged for guitar is a masterstroke that really shows off just how powerful and versatile an instrument it is. Absolutely brilliant, and like a truly selfless musician he's shared the tablature as well, should you be brave enough to learn.
This boggles the mind. Good grief, the skills and feels.
Fantastic. So smooth. It sounds really like two guitarists and percusions playing... Congrats.
Jazz isn’t boring.
Jazz improvisation frequently is.
This jazz improvisation is not boring.
In a world of vain show and extravagant waste, what a rare thrill to listen to such a master player dedicated to excellence with an exquisite sense of humor and simplicity: just a few strings, an iconic jazz track and a hat! Thank you for offering us all that island of taste and pure music!
AMAZING! You perfectly translated Paul Desmond's sax to guitar...AND Joe Morello's drums. HOLY CRAP!
Masterful arrangement and performance, bravo!!!
From an old Australian bloke battling with jazz improv. That is great playing!
Someone still says there are no visitors from another planet among us!!! Amazing musicianship. Jaw droppin'...
Nice… that tune never gets old, and it’s always refreshing to hear a well-played cover…
That is the most amazing thing I've seen and heard in years. Thank you for sharing.
You’re in another world beyond normal talent. I cannot imagine the time, work and dedication that it has taken to have skill like this. Bravo
Far and away the best guitar version I've heard.
So cool! So accurate!
I stood in awe, with my mouth open for 3 minutes. Amazing work! Out of this world
Way beyond awesome. I can't even play the basic melody over a loop - just unable to grasp the timing. Fantastic, thx.
Nothing could ever be boring if played by you.
Sheer bliss. Thank you for bringing grace and elegance into the world!
Continuously humbled by your playing, Lucas.
Fuck me! What an incredible performance Lucas! It's always a joy watching and listening to you play, but this one just floored me with sheer beauty and rhythm
Many have tried, few have succeeded. Best I've heard.
One of my favourite jazz pieces, and very well executed. Good job Lucas.
You sure this is just one guy and one guitar? Damn. So, full. ❤
What the heck??? I love this piece but thought it is impossible to play it properly on guitar. And then this dude comes and just does it flawlessly, damn. Absolutely freaking amazing.
Oh COME ON, man!!! I think I’m just going to sell my guitars now! Beautifully done!
I absolutely love this.
Great as always, and TIL Desmond has sole writing credit for this. I had always assumed it was written as a group.
This is breathtaking; I hear a whole band. Bravissimo!
This is superhuman level great stuff. Bravo Lucas!
You post it, I like it, that simple! Amazing as always!
Greetings from Brazil.
This is the most insane thing ive seen in a while, cant imagine how difficult this is to play.
CZcams have been presenting me with several solo versions of this tune lately, I like it, so I listen. This is by far the best, as I pretty much knew it would be before it even started. Another great one Lucas. Thanks.
Amazing arrangement Lucas! Love the percussives and intricate melodic harmonisations. One of the best tunes ever, of any genre.
Dude, when are you going on tour?
You have so much material and a solid fan base. Time to make it happen!
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. How is that humanly possible? Thanks for sharing this with the world.
This guy was born to play guitar. Amazing!
Amazing arrangement! Great work sir ❤
Bravo! Now I am complete. Awesome job and thanks.
Fantastic arrangement! The solo and the rythmic with one Guitar... Wow 👏👏👏
So I’ve been playing 30 years and I saw a song that he performed, and well it’s been 6 months of playing extremely slow just to learn the song and sound like him. Well their is hope at the end of the tunnel, but after trying to do his compositions on the guitar is very humbling. Like I said 6 months in of 45 minutes a day playing it slow and now bringing the speed. I think to get to performance in public scenario will be another 6 months. And ya right now I’m implementing the double tab with his palm into the playing and mastering that one single element alone I feel is an accomplishment that is worthy of many many hrs of dedication. If only when you stood at the ocean and picked up a shell and it was playing this song softly it would be pretty great. It’s funny when someone says so and so is so good on the guitar and well most pros are pretty talented beyond what they perform, no one is on this guys level. No one, maybe Kent nishimira, Tommy Emmanuel, great guitarists don’t get me wrong, this guy deserves a Nobel prize for the guitar. It’s like andres segovia such classical roots with all the new school stuff added on. I think segovias spirit is finally rested at ease knowing someone is saving the guitar. And may the force be with you if you try to play his stuff…..But first 20 years of classical training then you can start to learn like seriously.
Simply amazing! Please, more of this Lucas.
Great job on one of my favorite instrumental pieces. You made it swing and kept in the groove with your improvs.
dude this is expert mode. absolutely beautiful.
Always wonderful sir, thank you.
