Aside from Temi having an off night, I still felt that Willow didn’t step up. Her defense costed them a lot of points and her offense wasn’t consistent. Lewis should continue to start assuming she’s healthy because she’s proven to be clutch in these situations. At least Grand Rapids lost so the ranking don’t change but keep fighting Mojo 🥳
Temi should have been subbed out earlier in the 5th set. Willow Johnson was clutch, but her being clutch isn't what you need. In volleyball, you need someone that is aggressive and score points all the time. Being clutch is not good as you only score points in clutch situations, but I rather take consistency over clutch. San Diego Mojo definitely would have won if they didn't make so many errors. They basically killed themselves on unforced errors.
Mojo played like they wanted Thrill to beat them today. Again, mojo could have won this 3-0. Mojo played without any urgency to secure their playoff spot. Poor performance by everyone even the coach. Pass was rarely on target even the pass from the libero. Even a free ball wasn’t on target. Too many free balls given to the Thrill and when mojo get a free ball, they can't capitalized . They’re not scoring on transition tonight. Johnson had a good day, she’ll become more effective with more playing time. Temi was not a factor today but you can’t blame her. She must be tired. Why wasn’t Temi subbed out with other available outside hitters? This was a match to let starters rest and see if the bench has the ability to rise to the occasion. Thrill is a good team despite their record but mojo beat themselves today. Losing is a part of the game and I’m ok with that but mojo can’t honestly say they gave their all and left everything out there on the court. Winning the next match will be a great step in the right direction.
Exactly. I felt like the Mojo let their guard down. I assumed they thought they could beat the Thrill. They thought wrong. They were basically playing against themselves making so many unforced errors. Temi should definitely been subbed out in the 5th set. By the time she was subbed out, it was too late. She made the most errors in the 5th set before Coach Mojo subbed her out for Papa. Mojo should have won, but you can tell Vegas Thrill was out there for blood---This was a revenge match for the Vegas Thrill and they got their revenge.
