I can now see how much positivity Carlos brought to McLaren when he joined them. It’s just his personality. It really showed McLaren as a family who had fun during the races even though it was always a serious job. Without Carlos, Unboxed now feels like a race week documentary. I am a fan of Danny Ric and I need a little getting used to this more serious Daniel. Nonetheless , Henrik is doing such a great job filming and then editing it to become these lovely videos for us all to watch after every race. Thank you Henrik!

Maybe it had nothing to do with Carlos n everything to do with McLaren media people who did the job by bringing in fun things to do.. every other team seem to be doing this but I haven't seen this here.. Daniel is such a cheerful n playful with every other teammate he has had, wonder what's happening here???
@@rrani4061 I feel it’s Carlos’s own personality as can be seen in other short videos and interactions with Lando and other drivers. His personality is not scripted or forced, it’s naturally him. And yes, the PR team do come up with the fun ideas too and Carlos alone can’t completely change the team’s dynamic and atmosphere. Mattia Binotto said Ferrari hired Carlos partly because they liked the way he communicated with his engineers and the team. Quite often a driver has some influence over the team’s atmosphere. This is not to say Daniel is doing anything wrong. He is friendly and cheerful with the team, but he did also say that coming to Mclaren, he’s going to be more serious. For us Mclaren fans, as long as Lando and Daniel respect each other on track, that’s all that matters. Because that’s what needed to bring the team forward. Friendship between Lando and Daniel is just a bonus for us fans, but not imperative.

Carlos was the secret sauce in the fun of last year... I still support him even though he's left McLaren. He's got integrity, humour and honesty.

Mclaren unboxed really just hits the spot. I love the lack of talking and sound of engines. Planes. The mechanics doing their work. It’s all perfect. Really relaxing. Thank you mclaren. I may not be your biggest fan. But I am your fan.

earlier in the unboxed videos we used to see lot of friendship between lando and carlos, but now a days we hardly see lando and daniel together. Its not the same anymore

Carlos helped Lando settle in F1. As a mentor like person, this grew to a pretty solid friendship over these past 2 years. Best Bros as some say. Riccardo is basically a direct threat to Lando. Both (3+4) have to beat eachother this season to prove some points. So naturally 2021 isn't gonna be all jokes at McLaren.

Riccardo is focusing on settling into the car and proving himself before fun and jokes. People need to be logical here. When they start performing comfortably with each other and competing , then they will let their hair down literally....

I hope Daniel and Lando manage to build a little bit of a rapport as the season goes on. Although I'm new to F1 so maybe I've been spoiled by the lando/carlos dynamic? Is it common for there to be so little rapport (from what we've seen so far) between drivers on the same team?
Lando and Carlos have something really special. There haven’t been, and will never be, teammates like them again. Sadly, we are back to business as usual between teammates. 😭🧡
