Fun fact! Cipher's title: Demon Lord of The Round Table is a pun in the original Japanese dialogue. "Knight of the Round Table" being "Entaku no Kishi" adding an N to Kishi turns it into "Demon (Lord) of the Round Table"

Some added information: depending on your playstyle (knight, soldier, mercenary), you will encounter different ace squadron, thus getting different interview and pixy description of you will change slightly.
Edit: some squadron is fixed but their dialogue and story changes slightly (Espada leader survived our encounter in certain playstyle, only to die in a different way)
I hate that the knight run through everyone just calls you a fucking child. So honorability is childish. Okay Japan

Iirc, the narrative in Zero is framed around interviews of people involved in the Belkan War while trying to find out what happened to Cipher because he disappeared sometime after the war.

Ace Combat loves it's mythology. It's funny you mentioned Fenrir, because that is the name of an advanced fighter in Skies of Deception (Ace Combat X on the PSP).

Game is like : Okay, you grinded enough. Tell you what, I have a devastating, earth shattering protype weapon for this plane, it will cost a lot, but it will be yours
Players : I'll buy that shit in no time
The LSWM will be balancing nightmare and may get neutered horribly like the poor MPBM (it did not deserve getting debuffed by 80% (and have its post explosion bursts removed) simply bcoz there was no way to balance it with multiplayer in mind)
I'd love to have a fenrir or Adler with the LSWM (even if just the 2 or 3 drops) and not have to worry about it being weakened.
If you are that worried about balancing, just implement a lobby level weapon banning system.
I hope AC8 adds in every single co-op raid style mission that was in Infinity (tiers and everything)

You might have noticed some targets are yellow. Those are optional. If you destroy too many then you are branded a mercenary and the world hates you for it. But if you ignore all of them you are titled a knight. Inbetween is a solider. So yeah this game has a morality system.

Not quite. According to ingame lore, Mihaly's X-02S "Strike Wyvern" is based on the X-02 "Wyvern", an Erusian-built aircraft, whereas Pixy's ADFX-01 "Morgan" is of Belkan design. There is however a link to AC7 here: the ADF-Series of Aircraft would eventually lead to the ADF-11F "Raven" aka Hugin and Munin. I think the point of confusion is that both the X-02S and ADFX-01 feature forward-swept wings, while the Ravens do not.

the ADFX-01 Morgan is the grand dad of all the super fighters in AC
ADF-01 Falken is the direct iteration of the morgan
X-02 wyvern was inspired by this (came about 7~ish years later, first shown in AC04)
