“Producer and live act from Bay Area: EX-HEIR presents 'BODY SCAM', a 10-tracker LP that blasts pure rawness on Electroclash, Minimal Synth and Industrial sounds. Pumping riffs with demonic oscillators, ruthless 707s, and punk vocals with surreal collaborations, this album condenses all into an exploited dance trip on lurid tape saturation and colour that resembles the essence of Body Musick and at the same time, stands on his own vision as EX-HEIR’s aesthetic and discography.” - Filmmaker // Body Musick
The latest sonic installment by EX-HEIR is a pulsating barrage of monotony reflecting the current state of perceived identity "found" in the contagious contemporary use of image and meaning. BODY SCAM’s anti-climatic thrust equally embraces and condemns the reckoning of self realization that teeters on a thread connecting the absurd with the normal. With lyrics that churn the outlying hypnotics and manipulative components of today's socioeconomic structures, there lies a gentle space for exploring the internal frontier that each human navigates and actualizes for one’s self. The ideal becomes pointless. Pointless to a degree of exposing a seeming endless potential.
Invoking shades of Screamers, DAF, Alan Vega, Skinny Puppy and Xorcist- BODY SCAM acts as a response to the perceived and felt chaotic doldrums looming through our modern shape of civilization as seen through a screen. Surrendering the image that is bought and sold by mind as truth, the image that entraps each body in a defining swell of humanity as a whole. The collaborations with Night In Athens, Eva Rose and Caitlin Siegle are testaments to human connexion, an ability to adapt and transform into some unforeseen state of being.

This is one of the largest compliments I could pay to an artist, but this sounds like the spiritual follow up to Skinny Puppy's "Cleanse, Fold, Manipulate" era output and I am 1,000,000% here for it. It does recall the same energy; the pent up aggression still being just barely held back from exploding into pure noise. The samples and instruments are perfectly crunchy and robust while nothing sounds hollow, digital, or lifeless. This is fantastic work and I can't wait to see where it takes me after further repeated plays.
I'd hafta disagree. It sounds more like a precursor than a follow up, in that it is more raw, less polished.
I got cleanse, fold, and manipulate when it first came out, and its been one of my favorite albums for 35 years or so now.
I do not know that this is so much a spiritual companion, however, as a sonic companion. I'm not getting the in your face politics that CF&M screams throughout. It could be that the vocals are less understandable tho. (It also could be that this is my first listen rather than my 10,000th as well.)
But this sits more with Bites than with CF&M, honestly. Between Bites and Mind: the Perpetual Intercourse.
Track 6 tho is giving me a strong Lemon Kittens vibe....
And track 7 makes me think Attrition in a big way. Laibach too...
Track 8 could easily be Laibach featuring the Residents.
Track 9 makes me think more of Covenant
This makes my industrial 90s kid heart scream bloody niceties!!!!!
NO BRAIN NO PAIN!
foaming at the mouth for that decade dance remix to come out
Man, this one gets you swinging fists from the very beginning.
Right before bed. Something to look forward to in the morning. 😎
Listen in bed lay on the speaker as a bed play it really loud bro
Loving the cover art so much
ИДЁТ ТЯЖЕЛО
this is like if AUTUMNS and Skinny Puppy had a baby, and god damn am I here for it
Two of my favorite things right now are Filmmaker and THIS!
FILMMAKER a drop or two of single malt.... bliss
There's a certain resemblance to Skinny Puppy that can't be denied...
however, a largely independent sound, with clear electro, minimal synth and industrial influences!
Holy shit this is good.
Oh my God this is amazing. Thank you for this
Been following you for the past couple years, and this has to be in my top five! 🙌🙌
Sounds like a set from Ancient Methods!! Bangin!!!!

Yay!
This guy definitely likes Ogre!
CDPR is taking entries for music in the Cyberpunk expansion coming out. Your tunes are already most of the soundtrack to my CP ttrpg and I thought it would rule to hear your stuff in game. It's for a station hosted by Sasha Grey.
Mauve🀄️
This is more Skinny Puppy than Skinny Puppy.
I'm gonna wait for comment 666
sweet. it's got a Cat Rapes Dog -vibe to it that I've been missing otherwhere.
this cat/these cats are taking the reigns from the early pop explorers like coil throbbing gristle kraftwerk and from sordide sentimental to suicide to nin mlwttkk and yes skinny puppy. bold ahead-thinking folks. folks for whom the fear of synthesizers was all the more reason to play them. i hope they scare people for a long time to come. this music is proof that fear is doing just fine around here. kudos killer pups. anarchy4yourstars2babies.
