I hate rape scenes in general. First time I saw one, I thought I was dreaming. Now, I only imagine myself exacting justice to the perpetrators. I also occasionally write about it
God bless Ving Rhames, man. I imagine when he read the script he was Jules and Quentin Tarantino was Marsellus and The Wolf that was coming was the LEGEND of this pawn shop scene. It's exquisitely bad ass, all pun intended. 🙌😎
The whole situation between Butch and Marseilles is dark and bad, but it becomes completely eclipsed by the evil they find themselves caught up in when they wind up in that pawn shop. What Zed, the gimp, and his buddy intend to do to them more or less makes Butch and Marseilles forget about their own problem. This music combined with the drama of that scene is just perfect. It captures all of the tension and horror. A great blend.
@@Nieds80 agreed. The only thing I would add is that the Gimp wasn't really an evil character. According to Tarantino, he was also a victim of Zed and Maynard who was tortured for 7 years into doing their bidding. Basically Stockholm Syndrome.
