My senior thesis film, completed after 2 years of work. It's strange to have it finally finished, but here it is! Enjoy!

The moment when the knight realized that the dragon he was hunting was his first love, and that growl that the Momma dragon to indicate “See this is how it felt like when you took my child’s life from me, and now you’ll know the life he would’ve had, the life you’ve taken away.
And then there's the other dragons, just watching the whole drama.

than means he take out their hatchling to point out as he was doing good
when taking out a hatchling has no effect on their stats of good when the mother knows is make it fair
turn him into the thing he killed a hatchling who can`t stop anyone taking him away
I only just noticed now, that the knight doesn't turn into THE baby dragon, but simply A baby dragon.
The original baby in the beginning has purple eyes and chest gem.
But when the knight turns into a baby dragon, he has BLUE eyes and a blue chest gem.
So the mother dragon didn't get her child back - she instead created a new child to raise and to give a new chance at life.
I think the reason why this change in color is so easily missed is because the colors are very similar, and because there's like 10 minutes between seeing the purple-eyed dragon and the blue-eyed dragon, so you could probably forget what color the original baby had and assume the mother remade her child using its soul and the knight's body and life force.
That's what I assumed at first, at least. But now I see that it was only a transformation of the knight, not a reincarnation of the baby.
If anything, the princess being transformed by the baby's soul was probably more of a reincarnation of it than for the knight.
When you said "A new child to raise and a new chance at life" gave that whole part a different meaning to me now- the Prince was very obviously distraught at what he did and seemed pretty remorseful, and I can pretty much imagine that people at this age saw dragons as dangerous creatures, "sharks with wings" even, that's why he was so willing to kill the baby at the beginning, but seeing that his lover was the dragon he sought revenge to, and then the mother dragon presented him that necklace with her offsprings gem, this is probably when he realized that these dragons aren't just feral animals and are sentient. So those factors may have played to his willingness in the end?
And I'm guessing the mother dragon notices this. It could also be that the dragons in this universe are seen as either divine or monstrous beings-either way very powerful. The prince done fkded around and found out, but maybe she is also giving him a chance cuz she didn't exactly kill him. A chance to be a better soul, which she taught it to be?
Anyway, got a new perspective on this animation woohoo!

Unironically,I experienced the same Mandela effect when I was younger, I used to think the ending was the baby dragon at the start of the animation was revived.
i feel like it’s REALLY obvious though? I noticed it when I was 8. The color change is pretty drastic.

Also, the title is "Reversal of the Heart." I take it as basically remorse and redemption. I.e. the process of when one does some grave error and commits to it, refusing to change their ways until it hits them in the face what the consequences of their actions are, and they realize what they've done and the effect it's had. At that point, if they accept that they are imperfect, they may feel great remorse and want to make up for what they've done. At that point, they realize there's much they don't know, and are like a child again in learning to become better than they were.
I love how the mama dragon ignores the princess and the warlock boy because they did nothing wrong, they didn't kill her baby. Instead of going on a unbiased rampage for its death, she makes the only who did it pay the price instead of everyone and I love that :3

You can _see_ the pain in her eyes when she confronts the knight with the broken gem, and you can see the realization in his eyes--he killed a baby just to get a pretty rock, and he tried to kill his lover because he doesn't see dragons as people, just animals. That's why he kneels before the Dragon Queen; he knows he fucked up and that's really the only penance he can offer; his life.
And as for her transforming the knight; no, I don't think she resurrected her baby or even replaced them; I took it more as "You took my baby from me. Nothing will ever return my child, and nothing will ever replace them, but I'm going to turn you into a baby dragon and raise you properly this time, so that you grow into a decent person and I can still raise a child."

But instead, she chose the measured response of meticulously teaching the knight the error of his ways by inflicting the exact same grief she felt as losing a loved one

Kinda feels like he murdered a child and got rewarded for it by getting to be taken care of by a loving mother all day until he gets to grow into an awesome, flying, fire breathing dragon. The animation was amazing tho, I still love the story even if I wasn’t a fan of the ending.

I remember seeing this years ago it was so beautiful and had inspired me to write a story around the basis of the exterior heart with some lore and other aspects then pushed years into the future. Still one of my favorite animations to date

you’ve got the adventure of the wizard-in-training and the princess-turned-dragon going on a journey, the frog thing being the cute side character you buy plushies of, the main villain being the knight, and the mother dragon that can appear in an episode every now and again. I would watch this.

Plus, they could always show the knight; who just so happens to be having the worst time of his life just trying to reach the 'Dragon Mountain'; yet still he tries because he's 'ANGRY and WANTS REVENGE!'. I could so see the knight having one of those arrogant personalities like Suzaku from Code Geass; treating the people like mere garbage

11 years since I saw this when it first came out. I was only 4 years old and was just looking through my parents CZcams. This animation was great for its time it's short but tells a movie worth of story. And it's probably the animation that got me into liking dragons. Honestly this whole animation could probably make a short movie or even 10 episodes and give time to explore the journey that happened throughout which would have made it better. But that is the only way they could have improved it and it's really amazing how well done it is.

Man its been 12 years since I've seen this beautiful animation. It's still amazing 12 years later.
I was OBSESSED with this video when I was around 10 or 11, and it led me into my love for animation and art! I continue to come back to it every once and awhile to appreciate its beauty
I love how this is shown from the dragons perspective, with the dragons just trying to live their lives, and the human who kills the dragon being the real monster. The woman got to go back to being a human after returning the heart, and the dragons didn't even kill the human who killed the baby.

The baby comes back to life at the end. Once the dragons baby gets killed. And someone takes its heart, they need a living soul and the heart, to make it again, and the human isnit a human anymore, it goes out of enticement, the human does atleast, and the heart creatures her baby again, so her baby is still alive, but the baby just died for a little bit and came back to life.

Your prototype after a long time still has many strengths: functional storytelling, good pace, good basic direction, characterization base that you can expand, the story works well and the design can only improve. Reviewing your short films never tires me, I would be happy to see a reboot of your work! I find it much more valid than many feature films of recent times, bravi!

I disagree. He might of been heartless towards the dragon but he definitely was not evil and was not a coward. He spent half of the short trying to avenge his love. I think he submitted in the end because he did everything for her and she rejected him. He also acknowledged the mother dragon's right to kill him. I honestly dislike the princess the most: she smiled when he was turned into a baby dragon (losing everything he was) when everything he did was for her. She can do with having some empathy.

I love how the knight was tried by fire and reformed into an innocent life rather than just obliterated. I don't know if the knight is the baby dragon or simply rebirthed as the lost child but either way his new form gets another chance. Bravo for an amazing story FiddleGriff

Animation: It was really clean, and the glow effects looked amazing! You clearly new what you were doing, with the dynamic shots, and how you could tell what was going on without any dialoge!
Music: It was so well done! The music is actually howI found this, as I heard the song Dragon Lullaby as a kid, not knowing where it was from, and then I found it after years!
There is litterally nothing wrong with this, it's perfect. I know some people want some sort of series off of this, but I like it more as a stand alone animation! Great work on this!

1.) The sound effects for the baby dragon
2.)the voice acting for the kid prince
I get that the creators want to make the baby dragon cute but i think they are trying to hard i think they should use like idk..bear cub sound effects or something like i want them to make the dragon like a little less cute im not saying they shouldn't make it cute at all im just saying and for the kid i think he needs some acting training
@@EzioAuditore117 I didn't watch the show in english because its not my main language so idk about the acting skills of Ezram voice actor and I don't have complaints about Azymondias sound effects. I just think that in some battle moments it feels so much childish. Yes I know its the audience for which the show was created but sometimes I just don't connect with the scene at all. Out of that the show is great. Sorry if I made some mistakes how i said english is not my main language 😊

Lesson 4: When stealing stones from dragons, do not give them to your love. Instead, sell it for money. Instead of giving them a possible dangerous gemstone, buy your love that necklace she always wanted that is much more colorful.
Lesson 5: Make sure your lover and anyone associated with them is not a member of the D.R.A.G. (Dragons Rights Activist Group) Other then getting long, over-winded speeches about protecting dragons, they may turn you over to the dragon... um... council? (Not honestly sure what the dragon government is.) If you want to hunt dragons for a living, please make sure you live in areas where there are no or little amounts of dragon protection.

I could totally see this becoming a full fledged movie or even better a tv series.
Emma Dal Degan not really, a tv series has more time for character development and deep exploration of the lore of this world, a movie has to expose all of that in the span of 1:30-3 hours run to do the exact same thing, I thing the movie actually has a more chance ruin it.

I love that the mother retribution was technically life for a life, but in a very unique way. It depends on if he remembers being who he was or not or if his body was simply a vessel to make a new born in.
Either way, cool idea. I love that the mom dragon was far more measured in her response for vengeance. She planned, she watched, she (mostly, considering she did turn the princess into a dragon on purpose and probably knew it was some risk) at the end, she doesn't blame anyone but the one who did it.
Almost 12 years later and it's still the best thing I have ever seen.

Can we just talk about the sass of the mother dragon. Love that regal entrance and the flick to that helmet. I'm a animation fanatic so it makes me happy that people inser little postures like that.
