One suggestion I have is watch your Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards etc for deals. Go to them once a week at least. It's a great way to find deals on tools.
A benefit from it, is if you go the same day, same time, you'll probably get to know employees after a while. They can be a source of information. I've also gone in and they had put display tools out for sale at a great discount. $20 for a Flex or Kobalt charger. 36v 7 1/4 in Metabo circ saw, bare with 1 blade for $38. Bosch oscillating tool $20. Flex 5ah battery $20.
With patience, you can build up a very good set of tools on the cheap.
Lowe's every year has Dewalt 110 and 100 piece impact bit sets that are $49 full price. They reduce them to $39 for several months. Then $25 and I've bought them as low as $12.50.
If you have the time and some money, not a ton, you can build a professional set of tools.

@@themaintenanceman1 very true about the tool reps. I've never been lucky enough to meet mine. Closest I've come is seeing a Dewalt pickup in the parking lot.

@@bwselectronic 😂😂 I will say that Milwaukee and Ryobi are always at HOME DEPOT and dewalt, flex and Bosch have been at lowes all pretty consistently. And I talk to them. I feel like I’ve been fortunate because the ones in my stores will always try to get me coupons or offers when I’m looking to buy but they never try to force sales and they all love just talking tools. Both good and bad about their lineups so that’s been pretty cool
Perfect bag and assortment of tools that you can get those maintenance repairs done, hell I think "you" could build a house with that bag.

I've never had trouble with my Fastback utility Knives. I currently cary the one with a screwdriver bit. I just run a file across the blade about 5 times on both sides once a week. I'm usually cutting up some cardboard boxes everyday. I've used the same blade for a year just filing it. I will say the Milwaukee blades are the best I've found.
If it works for you then that’s all that matters. On mine the blade would always pull out on me which is a good way of getting cut. I’ll stick with the husky’s for now. As for blades I’ve always enjoyed the Lenox gold or the dewalt carbide or the tajima ones are nice. The Milwaukee carbide ones aren’t bad at all either. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it buddy!
Working with tenants, a temp probe is going to be more useful than a non-contact temp sensor. "The hot water isnt working", the thermometer says its coming out of the faucet at 120 degrees. "The AC isn't working", the thermometer says the air coming out the vent is 50 degrees. "The fridge isnt cooling", the thermometer is reading the fridge is at 38 degrees... ends the argument quick.
I don’t disagree there but both serve their purpose and accomplish the same thing. Only complaints we ever really got was heat in the apartment. Go to the center of the room point at floor and get reading. And radiators show them they are at temp. No argument after that. It’s amazing it would be like 76 in their apartment and they would have the electric oven on with the door open 🤦♂️. Thanks for watching!
Good video and a nice assortment of tools. I like the focus on redundancy and that eventually you get to the point where you end up having multiples of things. Those Kobalt screwdrivers look nice, I've never been much of a Lowe's shopper but when I went to one last month they seemed to have a lot more quality-looking hand tools than I remembered.

Very comprehensive list of tools although I would hate to carry even 75% of them on a daily basis....As you suggest towards the end, I think the idea of a small core of tools, plus adding additional tools as need on a per job basis is definately the way to go!

And yes once you learn the properties and learn the most common things to fix you’ll just take what you need and maybe a little something for backup but not much to it imo. A lot of people tell me they take everything with them on a golf cart but we don’t have golf carts and we have to carry everything up stairs. So you learn quick what you need lol

I really can't stand Ryobi drill and impact driver. They're cheap for a reason, my impact driver lasted 6 months. Go with Hilti products cost more but will last a really long time.
Hmmm. You couldn’t stand them so went with hilti. And here 14 years later my ryobis still work 🤔. Sounds like I came out on top of that one. I did own the hilti 12v lineup for a time and they are fantastic tools but overkill for a maintenance worker. Save your money for other things. Don’t waste it on tools. @@andrewlacerenza667 I understand the Ryobi dislike. You get a bad tool or battery and it sours the brand. Happened to me with Milwaukee so I went back to Ryobi and they work for me. But if you want to spend money on hilti I’d like to see that over people buying into the Milwaukee machine lol. I appreciate you watching and thanks for the feedback on the video.
