      Gary, Never worry about catching up... it isn't something that we need to do, and even the appearance of some sort of agreement could be considered bad by the YT Terms of Service - with supporting other creators, all we can do is the best we can do, and to the best of our ability to do so... that is all... I like the videos you create, and - while not vegan, I am more vegetarian than meat eater - I just have to be weary of high sodium foods... your videos provide valuable information to me, and that is all there is to it! Don't worry about things, and take care of the issues you need to focus on, recharge your personal batteries, and we'll all be here!

    Thank you for the video! What size driver did you use to take the blades off?

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden  Před rokem

      I use a 15/16 socket, and I use an electric impact wrench. I have the Ryobi and the Milwaukee Fuel... the Impact socket is on the Milwaukee one, because I use it most often for just this purpose.
      I do not need to block the blades or anything, I just need to make sure that I have the little button pressed for the proper amount of "Nut Busting Power." I believe it is level 3.

    How many sets of blades had you replaced, thusfar? I've done two sets. One set a year for my particular lawn area. Thumbs up

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden  Před 6 lety

      Our fields have been "let go" for a number of months prior to our moving here. The overgrown field in particular is very rough, and I need the walk behind bush hog to clean that up. I hope to make an "action shot" of that going to town on a single - and large - thicket in "Muddy Field" today. On the 72" deck, I have replaced the original set, and the second set as well - I hit something nasty - which I have for a short video later on - I will be more cautious going forward.

      I would love to get to the point where I can sharpen them, our friend MTRUNK 85 actually has a video where he is sharpening and balancing his blades - I need to stop hitting things with my main mower, I have a new video coming out demonstrating the mower to use on the harsher elements! It is like I don't need to work out, because I am getting a workout! A benefit of my labor!

    What size socket are you using?

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden  Před 2 lety +1

      One sec.... let me go look... It is a 15/16's Socket... and for the Impact Wrench, I had to make sure I picked up the black impact wrench socket for that.
      Of note, I was having a heck of a time getting the blades off, and I picked up a Milwaukee Impact Wrench, which I assumed was just one speed - super duper - but it is not.... what I THOUGHT had been battery indicator lights are actually a button to change the power of the wrench (Yep! I'm an idiot!)... my wife asked me if I had a switch, and I said, nope... but I was kind of correct, it is a button!
      I saw someone else who made a video about the Milwaukee tool, and he had three choices, I have four... but I pushed the button a few times, and "ZIP!" off came the stuck bolt! I'll make a video about that.

    Is it essential that the blades all line up at the same angle?

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden  Před 3 lety

      I wondered about that for balance, but I doubt it, because when I change them out - they are almost never lined up... I do, however, put them that way when I install them. I have NEVER been able to sharpen the blades - no set of them has made it that long before being just eaten alive... I am trying to get the property to be more smooth (tractor work over the next year) and I hope that will aid in the blades lasting longer, and making the job much faster!

    • @dannylorange
      @dannylorange Před 3 lety

      Thanks for your reply, yes i was thinking when you hit something the blades are going to move a bit on the belt and get out of line. I just changed blades for first time and forgot to see if the old ones were lined up before I unbolted them.

    • @dannylorange
      @dannylorange Před 3 lety

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden  Před 3 lety +1

      Keep checking around, but the word appears to be jack stands around the rear frame. You'd have to jack it up with one of those heavy duty jacks, and get jack stands under the frame in the back... I only needed to be able to get to something under the rear one time, and it was time for service anyway, so I had the shop do it for me.

      I thought she was done for, but this morning, she is night and day better. We adopted this cat when she was 14 years old, because her human could no longer care for her. Her former owner has since passed away (natural causes), and this little cat is 16 years old. I just want them to be happy and healthy, then quietly pass peacefully, naturally, and pain free.
