That was extraordinary, Rahul. It is the most difficult thing to hold back as a singer, especially a classically trained one; but you did hold back, you resisted from almost every bit of harkat ( you did the smallest variation in the refrain while singing Kishoreda's antara, but that was lovely). Awesome, controlled singing. Bravo! Kishoreda was the master of such minimalism, and Latatai could match him almost always - for example , in o mere dil ke chaiyn. Its a deucedly difficult thing to do, both technically and emotionally. Gangubai Hangal said in an interview that "a singer is tayyar when she knows what not to do and when to stop. Just because I can do lightning fast taans does not mean I should do it while singing Marva".
That was Fantastic singing and even more fantastic that you refused to elaborate extempore like you usually do.

If a song is sung by Kishore and Rafi or Lata, why do I remember or like the Kishore version the most? That is what I mean no other singer can capture the mood of a song, it is much beyond expressions and good singing..

Firstly I think it's because of his voice. He has imo the most masculine robust voice .
Secondly and most importantly he captures the mood of a particular song. He pours his heart out in every song he sings. Sometimes the composition is difficult which he himself admits but still he will give his 200% for that song.

Beautifully and perfectly sung Rahul ji. Like Pat S mentioned, u kept it to minimal variations and refrained from putting extra effort which is kinda difficult to hold back for a classical singer. I think u have the dare to sing these songs which is a difficult task for a classical singer of a level like u......2 thumbs up. You are my favorite...👍

Rahulji you sing well no doubt about it. I also note that you are a bhakt of Lataji and admirer/fan of Kishore da. No qualms about it because I and many others too are in that league. But in that era there are innumerable songs sung by Rafi sahab too. Why even other greats like Mukesh, Mannade Mahendra kapoor etc. But I have never heard you say even a fraction of your praise to these other singers!!! You may be a fan of Kishoreda but if you are a true connoisseur of music then you should not be biased in your adulations only towards one particular singer. Hope wisdom prevails in you.
Sir, I respect each and every musician who has contributed to our Indian music. And I worship Rafi Saab, manna da Mukesh ji and every other singer who have made an impact on me.
