Look, I hate Monopoly with a single Y as much as the next guy, and I've played Twilight Imperium 4th edition. Multiple times. Deliberately.
But just don't be that guy/gal/etc.
At least trainspotters don't corner you at the local level crossing and exposit at you about the [some astoundingly boring fact about a very specific model of train]. And even if they tried, most level crossings have multiple escape routes. And they can't follow you, in case they miss that engine they're waiting to spot.
