PeddlePower BMX Bike Show 6/10/23

- Took my (mostly finished) custom 26 inch Bassett Star Cruiser BMX to the Peddlepowerbmx Bike to support the bike show and to mostly hang out with friends on a Saturday together and have a great time. I am still building my BMX but it’s at least 90% done, just need to get some custom decals to color match the Red, Chrome and Blue theme of the bike. I was debating on getting pads made for it, but after seeing some other Star Cruises with it, I decided there’s not enough room on the frame of the bike for a full pad and a stubby pad just doesn’t look right to me personally. Would love to get a custom head badge made to put on the bike though. Going to these shows gives you great ideas on what others are doing to their bikes and what you can do to add to your bike and step up your game to compete. Also got to meet another childhood legend in the BMX world Mr. Craig Turner of Gary Turner (GT Bicycles) and shake his hand, he was taller than I thought he would be. Always a great time to see all of ya fellas and shoot the shit with ya, see ya at the next show 🏆

Joey, loved the video. I really like the red candy swirl also and the detail on the bikes are so amazing! The gold and the rose gold so cool! I think the blue tires would look better on your bike and those blue handle bars would be awesome 🤩 wish I could have been there to go to a bike show with you. I'm building a BMX park-style commuter with mud fenders. I got a used adult-size Bombshell frame with 21.5tt with the fork. I want to do orange chrome with violet forks and bars and violet faded near the rear axle. I'll use my little spray gun and maybe a pinstripe brush I'm not a fan of ball spray cans. It's kind of a bike for an elderly person like me that want a small bike but thinks folding bikes suck. I'm not putting a gyro on it and it's getting knobby tires for going over dirt and gravel and aluminum mag-style star wheels, sprockets for getting up to speed on the street, and a small one to clear rocks and concrete. I want to ride it around a little before I sell it. It might be a little big for me. I'm a short guy I should be riding with a 21-inch top tube.
I think I'll ride it down to the senior citizen center for lunch and get into trouble. LOL
I'm building 2 bikes now. The Bombshell Avent has a 3 sproket freewheel in back an 2 in front. I'm looking for another sprocket to fit in front the third small 28 tooth sprocket is so small it won't clear the front derailer. It's a 6 speed now but I might be a 9 speed if I find a sprocket that will work. My other BMX nothing it original but the Skyway handlebars. It's setup for flatland, it now has all sealed bearings except for the headset, Dia Compe bulldog calipers, sealed gyro bearing and locking handles, I mostly used Scott enterprises parts on it like the rims and seat. All the paint graphics is under the clearcoat nothing with adhesive graphic labels is going on them, It's getting blue parts and getting panted white with pearl clear coat, it's going to be Smurf colors so I'm naming it Smurf.

it's called a clunker and it's still part of bmx. also, a lot of basset are indeed bmx geometry just in 24 and 26. next you'll tell me that wheelie bikes aren't bmx either, right?

No offense but that is the worst “BMX” show I’d ever seen. Absolutely Nothing but carpet queens and high end wheelie bikes built by rich posers. That show epitomizes everything that I hate about the old school bmx hobby these days…
