  • Ford S-Max can be equipped with many Active Safety Systems. This is the test of few of them. Active City Stop is a technology designed to help you avoid or reduce the severity of them. If the system detects the car in front has unexpectedly stopped, and you’re travelling at a speed of under 50 km/h (30 mph), it automatically applies the brakes.
Cross Traffic Alert warns you of vehicles that are approaching the rear of your vehicle from the side when your transmission is in reverse.

I own a 2018 S-Max, the dual clutch transmission is terrible, jerky, not down-shifting quick when leaving a turn and trying to speed up, always in low revs when going uphill, also the PSA diesel is just not smooth. I also have a 2009 S-Max with a regular automatic, that has been a lovely car, just getting old now. But 2019 and up cars went to regular automatic and their own Ford smoother diesels, so hopefully they will be much nicer to drive

Problem is you can't tell semi-automatic transmission from automatic just from how the shifter looks, it's the same, i have been looking into buying smax or galaxy but i always have to run VIN through paid database to see what kind of tranny is installed in it and it always ends up being shitty dual clutch, like VW DSG shit, i hate them.

@@JohnDoe-ch6qy old S-Max before facelift - no dual clutch at all, old S-Max after facelift - all dual clutch except the 200hp diesel version, new S-Max - regular looking shifter - dual clutch, the models with no shifter at all, just a circular round shifter, those are standard automatics

@@JohnDoe-ch6qy 2006 - 2009 are all standard automatic, 2010 - 2014 (facelift) are all dual clutch besides the 200hp diesel, new model 2015 - 2018 are all dual clutch, in the end of 2018 standard automatic is in those cars, it’s always paired with 190hp Ford diesel (the 181hp PSA diesel was paired with dual clutch), starting with 2019 all cars have standard automatic, in pictures, the car has a round button instead of a standard shifter, hope this helps
