There's a hidden room under the floor below the first bridge on Outskirts where the pelican lands. It has a strange ball inside that resembles a brown egg. I have no idea what it's for, but it can be seen using the Halo 2 Mod tools. I challenge you to discover a way to get inside.
Ok so .. after reviewing the footage, i dont believe you are aware of an alternate/related glitch to this one. I've decided to write down instructions to this glitch since i havent seen anyone post about it for a decade. After seeing your love for the game, i dont know who else would be better to tell.. This glitch can only be done on co-op to my knowledge.. "Kissing Prophets" Step 1 Can start at 2nd checkpoint on "covenant". Step 2 Get to hornet spawn; both players get in Step 3 Get out of map using hornet (Can ignore both scarabs) *To get out of map: Fly the hornet pass the left of the citadel. Once you hit the invisible wall, decrease altitude in the hornet and push forward to go under invisible barrier. Then re-gain altitude. Step 4 Fly to where the "Silver Metallic" part of the building ends.. Here you will notice the main building has 'Major' and 'minor' "lines" which run along the exterior of the building. Step 5 Start counting the 'Major' lines starting from where the "Metallic" part of the structure ends. (This point is '0' [zero]). Step 6 Land the hornet on the 7th Major line and face the Building's main entrance. Step 7 Both players move '1' major line towards the front of the building (On the 6th Major line)*This "major line" is the guideline for the glitch Step 8 Facing the entrance, while on the 6th major line, move to the most right on the line as far as possible without falling off. *Here you will see a perpendicular line that crosses the major line. Step 9 The Chief needs to stand at the intersection of the 6th major line and the perpendicular line. Step 10 The Arbiter will carefully walk off the edge and stay close to the 6th major line as possible while falling. Step 11 The Chief will fall through the ceiling and enter the "Glitched" Citadel area. (On low shields due to fall damage) Step 12 The Arbiter will have the "Key" but be in limbo forever on soft lock. Step 13/Payoff - The Chief can punch the now tangible prophet holograms...and now kith. P.S. The "key' might have something to do with Flaming Armor and that hole you guys went into idk.. @@TheShiltShow the closest video I could find was Generalkidd ( halo 3 glitch - time travel on the covenant new method) utilizing the same way to get out of the map at 2:01 in the video. After that they go somewhere else rather than what's in my instructions
4:25 Halo modder here, Bungie uses whats called "Instanced Geometry" which basically means they copy and pasted the same room from up top down there, which why that hole exists but has no function

the hole is probably for Sentinels to move through, like the long ones on Sacred Icon you fall through
