Dogs have been domesticated for over 15000 years. Dogs protect are homes, our children, they are loyal and loving, intelligent. We get service dogs like police dogs, therapy dogs, dogs that walk to the blind and they offer us so many other fantastic services if we take the time to train them so please be kind to Allah's creation

Masyaallah! Yes, I understand some of u here don't experience dog-o-phobia as much as I do here in Malaysia, but it's real. As a country that has above 60% Muslim population and a 500+ since Islam landed in Malaysia, generations after generations.

We believe in Scholars more than the Holy Book.

      What do you mean?
You can't believe in a scholar who go against holy Quran

Giving a dog water is not the same as owning one. Should we keep skunks too? Squirrels? All animals can be loving, even the ones we love to eat. So we should be vegan too... the argument can be applied to all living things.

There is saheeh hadith that says we cannot keep dogs except as guards and hunting.

The Quran would have forbidden it if it was a big deal (which it isn’t). Are you gonna take the word of ahadiths that could have been forged and changed than the words of God himself?

@@macaroni3466 brother, the Qur'an tells me to obey the Messenger, Muhammad s.a.w. And Muhammad s.a.w has informed us clearly about the circumstances where it is permissible to keep dog. Otherwise it is forbidden.
And we receive his guidance through his sayings and practices, ie Hadith. And thanks to the detailed and tedious works of our scholars Bukhari and Muslim, we have authentic hadith collections to follow.
We reject hadith which are not authentic or that which does not conform with the commands and guidance in the Qur'an and other supporting hadiths.
He also advised us to leave any matter which is doubtful.
      I hope that clarifies.

There are so many hadiths that contradict the Quran and Sunnah of the Propeht Mummahd SAW. And some of those hadiths were in Bukhari and Muslim! Crazy, right?!
Plus, the whole thing about "Allah commanded we follow the messenger," that didn't mean follow the hadiths, it means follow the message of Propeht's message about the Quran and practices, through his guidance. That doesn't mean take a hadith were supposedly "stated" by him years after his passing!!
The Quran should take higher presidence over the hadiths, if a hadith contradicts the Quran, we reject it, no matter if they are considered "authentic" or not! Plus they were narrated by Abu Hurairah (who is a fabricator of hadiths), so not really a trustworthy source tbh.

      @Abbas Hamid
This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard brother Abbas.
The two sahihayns are the best source of reference. Don't refer to dhaif or ghareeb or fabricated hadiths as these are the ones you will find most contradicts Qur'an.

There are some narrations in Bukhari that are offensive to the Holy prophet like this one: Narrated Ar-Rabi: (the daughter of Muawwidh bin Afra) after the consummation of my marriage, the Prophet (ﷺ) came and sat on my bed as far from me as you are sitting now, and our little girls started beating the tambourines and reciting elegiac verses mourning my father who had been killed in the battle of Badr. One of them said, "Among us is a Prophet who knows what will happen tomorrow." On that the Prophet said, "Leave this (saying) and keep on saying the verses which you had been saying before." Sayings and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم)
On the other hand there is no reason that all Hadiths in Bukhari are authentic. the author claimed that? it doesn't matter. he is a human and like any other humans he can made a mistake, so why we should believe in that?

I'm not getting over nothing. Dogs aren't cleans. They're aggressive rude and nasty. They have to be bathed regularly because they stink real bad. Not cats. No they're not all bad but the prophet pbuh made it clear his stance on dogs. These scholars who are too weak to tell their wives she can't have a dog in the house now says that some dogs are holsom. Not buying it. Grow a pair Sheikh.

Take it easy Groove, no need to word your comment like that. I like cats myself and yet i dont dislike dogs. Dogs are actually really smart masha Allah. They are by nature quite unpredictable sometimes but that's likely why they are only allowed for the right reasons. Sure, we shouldn't have dogs as pets but we can have them for hunting & guarding etc..

@@rachael3050 It doesn't have to be in the Quran to smell that they stink and nasty. Whether you believe in hadith or not it's in there for a reason. Dogs have bacteria. You can own one but they can't stay in the home for that very reason. They stink

It's not dog phobia, sorry, dogs are like any beast, they are dirty and dangerous. They have some benefits though.
