    BTW, GREAT job on the altered stairs! The structures look even more authentic, and I applaud leaving the stairs up to the meeting hall as they were. It makes the building look very important, as it should. Plus, I second the motion on the reminder that the shop owners/barbers/doctors lived above or behind their business spaces. :)

      Yeah, I thought the same way with those stairs!

      Absolutely! By NO means to I consider myself a pro when it comes to settlement building in Fallout 4. I just really enjoy it and love the community we are building! Thanks to you and everyone else for taking the time to be a part of it!

    Amazing content yet again! Agreed @sTinger12300, well done on the stairs! The upstairs housing was a brilliant idea and well executed! Props to your creativity :) It is sad to see Zimongia go, however we are looking forward to your next project!

      Thanks for becoming a member of this community! I love to see all the collaboration and shoutouts. I'll do a tour next, but that doesn't mean Zimonja is gone for good... I love creating my own stories that go with these builds, so I am sure we'll be back in Zimonja before too long!!

    Quite a few of my structures are "well-ventilated". ;)

    Greetings and Salutations Mr. mkenn10! Thankyou for the shout out! I utilize the parallel stairs concept ALOT. Also, I believe I forgot to mention that 1/4 square flooring tiles or full-sized flooring tiles of any type can be used as landings between stair flights, either straight up or to change direction, as well as connecting stairs to structure entries for a less awkward path. (You should see my Somerville Place build--it's really crazy!) And I've never had trouble with npc pathing or getting permanently stuck. Sometimes they get confused temporarily, but eventually figure it out. ;) And yes, I use the parallel staircase ONLY when absolutely necessary.

      You bring some amazing viewpoints and knowledge to the channel. I can only imagine what your settlements must look like! I am getting to the point where I have already reset the size limit here by 75% and I am starting to sweat it! 😅😅

      Greetings, Mr. Matt! Haha, all of my settlement builds are pretty nuts! I've lost track of how many times I've dropped 20+ rifles on the ground at once and then stored them one at a time back into the main workbench, rinse, repeat, to raise the built limit.

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem

      In my original playthrough, I built at all of the settlements with no mods and was dropping mini guns left and right to get that build limit down!😂🤣

    Another great video! The adjustments to the stairs are brilliant, I really love how you engage with the community. I think it might be best not to build on top of the blacksmith to preserve the view of the 'skyline' of the interesting rocks and motorway section behind. Adds definition and layering that helps the buildings next to it stand out, especially when you view the location on the ground. Your town truly is starting to feel like a real location in the game, can't wait to see the final tour of the town. All the best - Lois :)

      Thanks again for the super positive feedback! I really dig your angle about seeing the rocks and freeway beyond the town and preserving the skyline. I didn't think of that (but wish I did🤣)! Thanks again for joining me and being a part of this community!!

    Greetings Mr. Matt! Thankyou very much for taking the time to respond to my comments. As an amateur history geek, I tend to dive quite deeply into any and everything historically cultural; such as the importance of alcoholic beverages from ancient times onward. For many centuries, low-alcohol beer and wine were, or contributed to, the equivalent of our modern purified water, for instance; thus the status of the brew master/mistress, vintner, and the inn/tavernkeeper. These people were responsible for the sustenance of human life, not just for "recreational substances". I think you would enjoy your own investigation into the subject, since so much information is so readily available nowadays online. Also," voila" is a very useful word; I find myself using it fairly frequently in my everyday vocabulary. 😅 Cheers!

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem

      Amazing historical references! I should definitely do some more research for my builds. I can work it into the lore; maybe like a collection of rare prewar books that we find in the game... You have me thinking of some pretty cool ideas. Thanks as always for the support and continued feedback, I really appreciate it!

      Greetings Mr. Matt! I had one more thought...JFF, I would like to share that awhile back I viewed a short featuring a mod for a life-size animated Giddyup Buttercup mount that the presenter's PC was riding. A finishing touch for your awsome Wild West settlement could be a hitching post in front of your saloon, with a GB or two tethered to it. (Please forgive my OCD completionist/immersive behavior.) :p BTW, is there by any chance a mod with a player piano for the saloon...? OK, I'll shut up now. 😅 Eagerly looking forward to further settlement builds and playthrus, good sir!

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem +1

      The life size giddyup has me cracking up! I was actually trying to add hitching posts and even the wooden water basins, which was from Nuka World, but I realized I can't find any of my Nuka World settlement objects. Not sure if Workshop Rearranged moved them somewhere I can't find or if something is wrong with my DLC and it's just not showing up...
      The piano player is a sweet touch, though!🤣

    • @sTinger12300
      @sTinger12300 Před měsícem +1

      Yikes! Good luck finding your Nuka World content, Mr. Matt; hope that gets sorted soon. And yes, the animated GB is a real hoot! If someone hasn't already developed a honky-tonk player piano mod, hopefully it will happen eventually...Cheers!

    Looks great! I just did a build at Oberland Station where I used the Warehouse floor and foundation half pieces to build walls around the perimeter.

    Those wood stairs snap together. The ones from vanilla. So if you wanted the narrow one you can make it longer by snapping another to the bottom of the first.

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem +1

      Riiiighht! That makes sense! It's always the simplest things that I forget! Thanks for the reminder and writing in; really appreciate you taking the time!

  • @higheverrains7386
    @higheverrains7386 Před měsícem +2

    I think knock that back wall out of the lower level saloon and put the door like you were trying. Then use the g2m wooden stairs that are made for U shapes, and you can make an easy route back to the hospital as well as up to the walkway to the houses.
    Those houses turned out great btw :D
    A final tip: if you want to, you can use both an outer cap AND a flat wall together to get a better look without losing the exterior textures. And yes, ramps snap together :)

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem

      Thanks for all of your awesome suggestions! You and other community members have been an integral part of this build and I am really looking forward to seeing this community grow.
      I didn't even know outer caps and flat walls snapped together! I also do want to use those U shaped stairs from gtm... I think I took things too far already with some decorating to do a redesign, but I could take a look.
      I am actually starting to run into size issues, I have already reset the size in workshop rearranged by 75%. Not sure what is safe since I have never reset the size limit before in a settlement.

      @@mkenn10 Building Budget Extender by NOBODYoO is a mod I use to carefully expand build limits. As you approach the limit, it will expand it to 1.5 times the original it found. It will keep doing this, but you can use best judgement and not let it keep doing it. This keeps it generally controlled without going overboard and seems to work with everything without any input on my end.
      Zimonja is far enough away from trouble areas in the game that it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Settlements that are close together (Abernathy/Red Rocket/Sanctuary) or near Downtown Boston (Hangman's Alley) tend to be where you need to be more careful about the build limit but one like Zimonja should be just fine :)
      As for community involvement, that's what makes it fun right?! :D Keep at it!

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem +1

      So far by expanding the limit, things haven’t been TOO laggy. Thinking I should be okay for the final tour. Fingers crossed!! 🤞🤞

      @mkenn10  Před měsícem

      Thanks for the compliment! I actually have stacked a few beams on top of each other. I recently remembered that a lot of the vanilla beams were able to do that too.

    Its zimonja. .you have the freeway right there with metal beams, cars, washers n dryers etc so incorporating some metal would be extremely lore friendly even on a wild west theme since its the apocalypse

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem

      That is a SOLID point. Thanks for bringing that small detail to my attention. Sometimes it's easy to get distracted from the lore and surroundings. With so much metal in the area and of course me and "the original settlers" from the story I created scrapping everything, we have plenty of metal to reuse.

    The build HEIGHT limit is quite high in this location, at least as high as the original comm. tower, so if worse comes to worse, more stories can be added. Colonial and Wild West-era boarding houses and inns were sometimes more than 2 stories tall. Also, the Saloon was a very important location in all communities, as it often doubled as an informal community meeting place, like taverns in the Colonial era. The saloon keeper would have as much status, if not more, than the constable/sheriff, and they worked well together when compatible. Great job on both of their living quarters. Voilá!

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem

      "VOILÁ" HAHA! I can't believe is said that word so many times!😂 Thanks for all of your recommendations and knowledge. This community here is really taking shape and they bring a lot of great ideas! I really appreciate the lore/history about the tavern/saloon owner. Need to figure a way to get that into the stories I am creating...🤔

    Amazing work ! Zimonja is looking great ^_^ To be honest, in the first video I was like " Damn how is he going to built a western town in there? " Cause the space of that settlement is kinda tiny, but then seeing the videos and the ideas , it worked really well . Again amazing work !

    Hi, I saw your first episode from this series. You mentioned you added G2M and workshop rearranged, I added these but can't seem to see the supports that you have. Is there a mod that added wooden supports for structures?

    • @mkenn10
      @mkenn10  Před měsícem +1

      Those supports are definitely from Workshop Rearranged... but maybe they require all of the DLC? You should be able to find them in the wood section. Hope you find them, but if not definitely let me know and we can try to dig a little deeper. People here in this community are SUPER helpful with finding everything in workshop mode.
