I myself go around the whole month of august and September and spot scope all different feeding grounds before bow season starts,I just make sure I’m along distance away from the deer.I will find one or two big bucks and know where and when I’m going to hunt them,pay big attention to the wind,one screw up is usually not good until rut kicks in.

I learned the hard way that if you have human access trail that's commonly used you can get close to deer if there by it. One day I glassed a 130 inch 7 point making scrape he was with a doe but I dint see her. so I looped around him the only option and way I could which blew my wind right at him. So I go passed him about 50 yards of where he was get the wind right and creep in well he Herd me making too much noise but thought I was a buck so he me met me head on at 12 yards the rest was history. Never imagined I could walk with in 40 yards of him down wind of me and not run. But it was the that public bike path on the old railroad tracks.

Learn to use pressure to your advantage. Duck hunters are a big deer hunters best friends because they make deer react to them. Then they all collectively leave around noon. Use their exit to cover your entry. They've left scent everywhere but the deer know they are no threat. Many times when doing this youll experience deer movement within 30 minutes of the mass exit if duck hunters. Deer adjust their patterns to our behavior. Never let the deer pattern YOU!

I met Mario few years ago around Delaware Ohio, we was both kayaking into areas.
Using water helps you get into areas behind the deer and let other people push the Deer to you when they come in.
I take your talks seriously. Im a PA hunter. Youre chasing that giant, im chasing the same one but 2 years younger. I use these tactics to see less deer but see the right deer

Hey Dan And Mario great to see you two together giving us some very very useful information. I do have a question. Does the big bucks you kill near walking paths and parking lots live in hill county? I’m from Ohio and we have plenty of public too but I’m from northwest Ohio and it’s really flat. Will those big bucks do similar stuff just wondering if it’s all hill country you are referring to. It's Rudis. Mario was into wrestling and found that shirt brand. I love them. Fit and fabric are my favorites.
