- Finally its here ! After a 12 months delay i can reveal the brand new float tube from Decathlon!
Retail is 590€ , should be in stores early next year. 100 are available for preorder on their website ( probably all gone already...)

This thing looks like the solution to a problem I have. I have a 5 meter rib and when visiting small beaches and bay's I have to anchor off and swim in (after dropping passengers on the beach ) this thing doesn't look too big when it's deflated as space is at a premium. I see it handy for getting in and out of sea caves too. Thanks for this review buddy.
looks great, i'm thinking in buying one. the only thing missing for me is the usual net support most of float tubes have above the legs. it's pretty usefull while changing lures. will need to do it above the boxes to avoid loosing tackle hehe

I have a snowbee tube. I got it to try it out. I love it. So I think I'll upgrade to this one, the Thames has some flows that require a motor too. Great video! Thanks for all the information!

Hey buddy! Yes, but i think staps would create a weak point of attachment, but looking at it, i am working on a couple of videos with trying to fit straps to it and with a small kayak trolley ;) cheap and effective

Merci pour cette video. Tres beau produit avec de nombreuses ameliorations. On voit qu'ils ont pense a pas mal d'aspects et l'experience est visible. J'ai achete le FLTB5 il y a deux mois en Israel des son arrivee (j'ai fait pression pendant presque un an sur la direction afin qu'ils l'importent 😄). j'en suis tres satisfait, les trois raisons qui me l'ont fait acheter sont: la qualite, le poids/volume, le prix. Les deux dernieres font defaut au FLTB9 a mon humble avis. Il a quand meme de la gueule! un bijou!

That looks like a beast of a float tube! 😍 Do you remain seated easily without a bar in front of you to prevent you from slipping from your seat? I used to have that on all my previous float tubes so I have no experience fishing without a bar in front of me
It feels very safe, the seat is very comfortable and can be adjusted with the straps.

Io l'ho acquistato una settimana fa tutto completo con porta canne , nassa galleggiante e supporto eco tutto FLTB e non vedo l'ora di collaudare tutto in pesca , la stagione è alle porte . Io ho sempre avuto tutti belly della oucast , l'ultimo è un prowler , sono tutti al top ma questo è davvero super e decisamente fuori dai soliti schemi è diverso in tutto . All'inizio mi aspettavo un costo inferiore , Caperlan ci ha abituato bene , troppo bene , ma una volta che lo tocchi ne apprezzi tutti i particolari , il sedile poi è una grande novità . Io dico che saranno degli euro spesi bene . Manca solo il suo motore , che prima o poi arriverà , nel frattempo studiamo un supporto per un 24/30 lb . Un abbraccio a tutti ! un saluto dall'Italia

I would put a plastic tote on the back for gear and maybe a trolling motor and battery. Looks good but what happens when the seat breaks like so many of that style do, while on the water. Better have extra nylon straps to repair the seat.
They have a two year warranty with decathlon, after that if something happens you can fix it yourself or get a replacement ( the whole seating station is at 70€ from Decathlon).
I would have loved to have an option for some rudders :/
What kind of stripping basket are you using there?
Once you get used to it, the fins are perfect rudders 😉
Stripping basket is a c&f slightly customised .

Thank you, Norbert for the review. My opinion is that this float tube is bulky, heavy, and takes a lot of space in the trunk of a car. The idea of float tube has come to give access to people who don't have boats to access to offshore fishing, quick fishing sessions, fishing trips during vacations..etc This Fltb9 is a heavy duty gear, if you can afford to use it, and have space in your car for it, its better to have a boat (zodiac) or Kayak...Decathlon went too far with this float tube and I don't think that it would have the success of FLTB5 or FLTB5 V2. The FLTB5 2023 will sell like tic-tacs, because it kept the same features of the original version + upgrades and the price range is still affordable. All they had to do is work on the seat and the backrest bladders. Or may be they did not have to ;) in order to sell spare parts, which is fair because decathlon is a business not a charity :D. I look forward into your review about it.
What is the new or where you have bought de stripping basket for the float tube?
The basket I use is a CF design that I modified .

It is very stable, I use it on rivers here, very handy with the addition of the engine.
Then again you have to see your river . Here it’s mostly slow moving and some spots with shallow faster water but no way near white water stuff

Un super float merci Renaud il était attendu celui-ci seulement pour beaucoup le prix les a refroidi ici en France ont est dans des tarifs du haut de gamme des autres marques ce qui a surpris par rapport à la politique générale de décathlon après ont fait pas des miracles avec des trèfles au vue de la qualité et de la finition du float il ont même penser à un moteur intégré je trouve le tarif juste le seul bémol pour moi c'est ce siège à voir à l'usure
Oui je pense qu’encore beaucoup de personnes en France prennent Caperlan comme une marque pas chère… mais c’est une compagnie qui évolue et qui commence à sortir de la qualité… et comme tout la qualité ça se paye… je pense que le fauteuil devrait durer plusieurs années.

As far as i know décathlon are in the us, my guess is stock will come later to the us. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long, maybe try to inquire to the closest store to your location 😉

Hi Norbert. This belly really attracts me, it looks really great. But I have many doubts about the back. Almost all float tubes have a V-shape, but in this case, the back is open... it makes me think that on windy days or with a bit of waves, it will fill with water. What is your experience and opinion???
Thank you ! I have no problem with the back and waves, I fish in Ireland and we always have wind and waves here. If a wave crashes it can have water, but it does not stay on the back platform, it runs off straight away. And the back is high on the water as well so it helps for the waves not to go over it. Ce n'est pas un float classique pour moi il est au dessus .regardé le prix d un flat form qui est plus cher avec une assise moins haute et plus dur . la tu testé avec le moteur dans les herbier ? En tout cas pour moi qui ne peu pas avoir de barque il fera l affaire je pense .Bonne continuation !

Hello Norbert, great review. The belly looks good. And i am curieus for the motor ,battery and controller system. But the price Norbert will kill it. 590 euro's thats too much. For 500 euro's you have a 12bb, 400 euro for a madcat and High and dry belly. These are top end belly's. Hope the motor, battery and controller will be good to. There up against Floatplus and Haswing brands. Hope that price will be better. A lot of people would like a system like that on there belly, but is to expensieve from the current brands now. It would be a hit! But the price must be good. I am installing a Floatplus system on a FLTB 5 belly at this moment. Tight flylines Norbert. Good luck.
I really don't think the price is too much, this float tube competes with the likes of tubes in the 600/1000€ bracket, and i have tried all the other ones you mentioned and none compare with the seating comfort of the fltb9 and the amount of loading space. Decat are releasing the glue on attachment and engine for any float tubes early next year, and the new fltb5 will come with the attachment already fitted. But again its all personal choices, size of your wallet and the use needed for each angler. Thanks for your comment ;)

Je suis français et je vie en Irlande…ce float tube devait sortir l’année dernière, mais il a eu de gros retards avec les problèmes de production en Chine.
