Just this installment alone tells me it’s gonna be a stupid movie with idiot adults, and the typically annoying kids. And I find it hilarious how she gets “delicate framing lines” on her face from falling in oil, as opposed to covering her entirely.
Found it even more amusing she could see underwater and was freaking out about something down there.....GURL, you wouldn't be able to see shit XD.

Why would they be shooting flares around an oil rig, that’s leaking oil? I understand they’re trying to distract the shark but still.

Some unrefined oil isn’t very flammable.
Crude oil is actually pretty hard to ignite, well below a certain temperatures.
In early disasters involving a crude oil tanker ship ( the _SS Torrey Canyon_ , in 1958, I think ...), in order to try and 'burn off all the leaking crude oil, it was bombed with napalm ... with only partial success ...
As another commentor said, when mixed with sea water long enough, it becomes this thick, hydrophobic jelly, that only detergents can 'dissolve' ...
Besides, when it _does_ ignite, seconds to minutes after spillage, the result is incredibly hot flames, that burns in floating patches, creating dense smoke.
_Deep Water Horizon_ may have been the worst in terms of the sheer volume of crude oil leaked, but _Piper Alpha_ is one of the worst in terms of fatalities ...

It’s very much bigger than the last movie, the small Meg in the first few parts was eaten by the Mommy Meg (the one that crashed the ship in the 1st movie) that mommy Meg was pregnant and gave birth to a pup, but sadly I don’t think she gave birth to her other pups, and now this next movie will show the pup that grew up (probably) and she’s actually huge her name is Angel And she gave birth to 2 other pups. I’m not sure if the very big one is Angel but it’s just my theory, but all I know is that the biggest Meg out of all 3 truly is 10x bigger. Definitely.
Well that was all i needed to see of the movie… when’s the next 10minute installment? 😂

I find that homage as good. Also I always had a theory Bruce the Shark and all other sharks in the Jaws series were evolved Meg's or evolved Great Whites that became a kind of mini Meg especially as of JAWS 3D the 35 foot shark was supposed to be related to Bruce the Shark.
It's does matter what people say about Shark movies I love them
Megladons can survive in the deep abyss for millions of year but this one though..... its not blind and it knows it prey, weakness and etc which means that this one been alive for millions of years and its evolved from being mindless Megladon to a smart, tactical megladon

Added to which is a magazine, with 'Excaliber' - type shells, for the three different gun callibers, that utilises triple -based powder bag charges, with the smallest being the eight, 155mm, twin-gun turrets ...
Granted, such a ship wouldn't be built, based on that a single carrier would sink it ... but against a biological threat, in terms of a large, deep sea, animal ...

I heard this movie was so bad. I was going to rent it, but read reviews and the reviews said the Meg only had a few minutes of screen time. So I wasn’t going to waist my money if there was no shark through the whole thing.

This movie was frustrating and the acting... laughable. The only ones who weren't embarrassing were the two oil rig workers, the little boy and the dog.

Scientifically speaking, even if the Megalodon was still out there -- it's not, but if it was -- it would be way too slow to catch a speedboat. Even modern sharks like the Great White and the Short Fin Maco could easily outrun one. That's a big part of the reason they went extinct!

... but the truth is, we have absolutely no idea of its morphology, as all we have is teeth, and the very rare vertebrae, that somehow was preserved, possibly in very thick, anaerobic mud ...
We can only go by scaling it up to large whales ... but, instead of thinking in terms of the usual whale species, but instead orcas ...
Orcas are known to be fast, agile, and incredible stamina, possibly because most of its mass, I think, is muscle ...
Now increase a Great White, with the same arguably muscle mass of an Orca, with all the latters abilities, by a minimum of 3x - 5x of the largest of either ever found, combined.
In other words, a 'cross' between a Great White shark and an Orca; not literally, or course - that's absurd - but a shark with a large gape, and 3 - 5 rows of teeth, with both the speed, agility, stamina, etc, and other behaviours of an orca, but many times its current size ...
... then have that shark's habitat as being below the 'twilight zone, the depth at which sunlight bare reaches. We know that deep sea giganticism exists, so, when whales were plentiful, and thus a larger number of whale falls occur, a dead, fully grown, sperm whale sinking to the Abyssal Plain, would be enough to allow it to live alongside the Six-gill shark, the Sleeper Shark, and the Greenland Shark ... especially if giganticism affected whales, too ...
