That is a very nice little detail, that doesn't cost a lot, that every car manufacturer knows how to do (since they all have online configurator), so why don't they all do that !?? Why is it that if I buy a blue BMW with black wheels, it will still show me the same, generic, grey BMW with regular wheels in the infotainment system ?? Also, they really need to fix the speed limit thing, because whenever I go thru a school zone it drops the speed to the school zone speed all the time, which could cause an accident if you don't push the accelerator because it's a dramatic difference and you don't need to drive slow outside of school hours or the posted hours on the school zone signs. Also, as mentioned, the issue with speed limit changes, last year they changed all the speed limits in my area, up 5 mph, which means that it's just always wrong in the car. Lets not forget about highway driving either, because the AP system will sometimes get confused about being on the highway or on a side road and then drop the max speed to side road speeds on the highway, which is a major hazzard while driving at highway speeds to suddenly drop to 1/2 the speed of traffic...

I've always called it a minivan, it has FAR more in common with a Mazda 5 and Ford S-Max than a damn 4runner or Chevy Tahoe. It even has doors that open up with the push of a button just like minivan sliding doors!

    • @joscaca

It’s a crossover SUV. The styling at the top tell you that. It’s way more stylist than those those big box SUVs. Those designs are not aerodynamic.
Bc there is transmission on the back, there is room to to down for space and thus no need to go square box up.
The car can be raised up, like in snow or something. I don’t know exactly how high it goes, as I have not tried it on my Model X.
The doors popping open are on all Tesla models. Just automatic doors.
It may feel or look like a minivan, but it’s definitely more of an SUV. It’s just more stylishly designed for performance.
Some of my neighbors think it’s a sedan.

@@joscaca you're byast because you have one and of course you like it. But for people who like SUVs for what their are, the proportions of the model X hint to something different. BMW's X6/X4 aren't boxy, the Porsche Macan as well and I can name a lot more SUVs that have stance and presence. You can jack up the model X to 9inches apparently, but nobody does that on a day to day basis.

I don't like the way Tesla and Merc have done it. Just screens everywhere. I get it... it looks cool and is customizable but it's like the Apple I watch vs a nice old school Mechanical. Sure the I-watch is cool and has lots of functions but it's soulless. A mechanical has a heart beat, purpose and your connection is between you and it. Not between a usb cable and update. That's how I think about it.

Francis Bawasanta I agree with everything you said, although it think the interior in the model s is not that bad, but Mercedes is just spraying displays on their interiors, look at the upcoming s class for example. Porsche handles this the best with BMW being a close second, followed by Audi. But unfortunately that’s what companies are being forced to do nowadays, for instance, the interior in current BMWs is a great sweet spot imo, but people keep saying that it’s the outdated. Apparently complicated things are now considered futuristic.
