    • @gabrielgingras814
      @gabrielgingras814 Před 4 lety +38

      The model X is a concept car that should've not been produced, yet is available to purchase. Massive sloping windshield, all motorized doors, falcon wings rear doors, individually motorized middle row... That's an overengineered show car that miraculously hit production. I consider it the coolest production car ever made and can say with certainty we'll never see anything quite like it.

    • @VoxelLoop
      @VoxelLoop Před 3 lety +7

      I think this sums up the different models pretty well, the people you'll see driving them in the UK:
      Model S - Sales reps, business men.
      Model 3 - Software engineers, geeks, boy racers, people who just want an affordable EV.
      Model X - Elderly people. (I guess it's easier to get into?)
      Model Y - Not released in Europe yet. :(
      Though the Model 3 is the cheapest, some people, myself included, bought it over the Model S because of the crazy modern interior, plus I really like the side profile of it with the gray 20" performance wheels! It is the most economical, but some people just prefer some models over the others. The most expensive isn't always the one people want! (But nearly 800bhp would nice of course)

    every day i drive this car is a joy. Economically it makes more sense to buy a 3/Y, but the S is phenomenally fast, an absolute beauty to look at (unlike the other models tbh), munches the miles in comfort on long journeys and still exceptionally fun on twisty B roads. It also has an immense amount of cargo space to carry stuff. It's practical AF and also great fun to drive. It's definitely wide for UK roads but you get used to it v. quickly - I've taken it down loads of narrow roads in cities and country lanes - including squeezing it through tiny roads in Cornwall - without issue.

    Even after 8 years, the Model S is a gorgeous car and turns my head when I see one on the road. People/JOURNALISTS keep clamoring for an updated design. Why? I think Tesla has taken a great approach by UPDATING the technology and performance whilst leaving the looks basically alone. If it AIN"T BROKE, don't fix it! How many years did Volkswagen successfully produce the Beetle whilst continually improving it? Ditto for the Dodge Caravan minivan which hasn't had even a styling refresh for 9 years. Yet it still had it's BEST sales year in 2018 since 2004 in a market which is supposedly totally dead. People don't buy minivans for style. They buy them for functionality and the Dodge Caravan is an unbeatable example for ultimate utility. Sadly, it has finally reached the end of it's journey due to regulatory issues which it can no longer meet without massive investment. Instead, FCA has created a "dumbed down version" of their Pacifica Minivan which has NEVER sold well because it's just too damned expensive for mass market minivan buyers.

Those OTA software updates come about every 3 weeks and each adds a handful of new functionality or a refinement on a existing one, typically more options. The way it’s designed additions can go on for years, really a superb design/interface. Tesla cars gets better with time, what other car brand has that?

    I do like the S and the X, but not that keen on the 3 or the Y. My reason? Because they don't have the "through steering wheel dials" that 99% of cars have and all the info is on the tablet to the side.
    And I know Tesla fanboys will say/winge, "Oh! You get used to it."
    I know I can get used to it, but that still doesn't stop me liking them both. If Tesla did dials in the "normal" position, then I'd like all 4 of them.

I like the space and cargo room which is better than the M3, I like the heated steering wheel and windshield wipers. I'm a bigger guy the seats were very secure for me. The ride quality is perfect for me because I do a lot of road trips and for me feeling the feedback from the road can be a little annoying. That's just a few things.

    Guys, one comment. Tesla no longer pass the free supercharging onto the next owner when you buy from them direct. They remove the free supercharging and free premium connectivity from enabled cars once they take them into stock and sell as a CPO.
    If you want a second hand car and to keep the free supercharging and unlimited premium connectivity data package you have to buy privately or through a third party dealer.

    • @ouethojlkjn
      @ouethojlkjn Před 4 lety

      Yes I believe Tesla now remove the full Self Drive and premium connectivity (if they were present) for second hand cars they re-sell and price them lower instead. Even if you buy private or through a non Tesla 3rd Party you still have to be very very sure on what is and is not included, and the asking price reflects this.

    Please stop quoting the 0-100% charge time. It doesn't mean anything, and it's not comparable between different cars with different batteries and efficiencies. And it put off people that doesn't know better ("15 hours to charge my car? What I'm supposed to do with that?"). A much better number to quote is charging time to get a certain range, say 50KM for domestic/AC, or 200KM for a fast charge, for example.
