The aerodynamics of a common helicopter is already very curious how it works, imagine this different model and with the main blades passing so close to each other! the model also does not have a spray rotor, very interesting, thanks for bringing these videos to us.

What a cool video, Jesse. The K-MAX is such an impressive heavy-lift helicopter. It is capable of lifting over 6,000 pounds (2,700 kg) with its twin intermeshing rotors. The K-MAX is an incredible machine and it is amazing what it can do.
Thanks so much Matt! I was so happy to finally get footage of a K-Max, I saw this exact one in Nelson five years ago but never managed to get a video of it. They really are impressive heavy lifters, and I love the unique design.
You must be thinking of a different helicopter. The K-MAX says right on the helicopter "Maximum External Load 6000 lbs." For a brief overview see the video over on Vimeo titled Flight Test: Kaman K-MAX
@@jameschristiansson3137 Yes, you are right. Thanks for the info. I have just corrected the numbers. It is actually the unmanned K-Max helicopter which can lift more than 24,000 pounds of water onto a fire within one hour. The helicopter is often used for fire fighting and or other high-risk missions. The unmanned or pilot optional version lowers the risk for personnel.

The Kmax is surprisingly quiet...our 206 is louder. The Kmax is more of a whomp whoop sound

Is it me, or this machine has very low rotor rpm, but because of a pair of blades it lifts of pretty easily?
Trying to guess the aircraft type that was running up at the end of the video? A bit of torture not being able to see it 😅

It is great to hear the turbos! No, it looks like there isn't much cargo space at all onboard. This one is mainly used for heavy lifting (helicopters-logging and wildfire fighting).
