David Garrett was perfect in the role of Paganini!
Disagree. He didn't play Paganini's part, he behaved himself in this film as David Garrett, not Nicolo Paganini. He played the part of himself in 19th century. It's like "What David Garrett would do if he lived in 19th century. The only thing he did well was playing the violin. Paganini's life, character, behavior, face... were completely different. Ok, face is okay, but everything else... is not. This film has nothing common with real history, but people believe the film.
@@Kchkchkch8415 I agree with your comments, His playing was astonishing, I am a very big fan of David, but I agree that he should’ve acted more like Paganini would’ve, they could’ve made his face look a little more tired or give off the idea that Paganini was someone who sold his soul to the devil.

This ist the first time that I see "the making of". It ist very interesting indeed. Even when some Journals said that the film is not good, I love David Garrett in the role. He is the only one to perform Der Teufelsgeiger! He IS THE BEST!

je suis agacé de ne pas l avoir découvert avant car il m'a littéralement envoûté son charme et sa façon de jouer son l oeuvre d un génie et découvrir le violon avec un tel virtuose c est comme être dans une autre dimension hors du temps et oublier tout ce qui vous entoure et surtout ne plus en sortir merci et continuer à me faire rêver .

lol, I watched the entire thing in German, I didn't understand but maybe 10 words...I had no idea it was available in English, rofl! It was still very moving, I choked up in a few parts like the duets, and the end...damn, now I have to watch it all over again, and see what I misunderstood.

Abigail Stein he's a celebrated violinist. I think this was his first acting role.
Isela Pena that's his second role. And in the movie, he was going to at first just play the violin audio recording and have some guy act it out. But last minute they decided to have him do the acting so that the playing would look more natural
