Luigi actually asserting himself instead of being a spineless weakling is quite refreshing.
The contrast in personality between the live action skits and the cartoon itself is astounding.
@@robbiewalker2831 Nah they just had completely different writers. They're closer to their game personalities in the cartoon segments minus the bombardment of bad Italian food and plumbing jokes.
@@SonicTheJackrabbit To be fair Luigi was pretty cowardly in the cartoon segments long before Luigi’s Mansion would essentially give him the “lovable coward” personality he would be known for in modern games. So I guess this would be a case of the “hilarious in hindsight” trope?
@@Thenumber1yoshi I mean being cowardly is definitely in line with his Nintendo characterization lol. The latter two DiC cartoons actually downplayed it quite a bit save for a few scenes
Do you think they come back to brooklyn to stay at that apartment between adventures? It doesn't seem like mario has a house in the mushroom kingdom, I don't even think peach has one
Fun fact: The guy who played as Doc Freud was the same guy who voiced Heavy and Demoman from Team Fortress 2.

Was not expecting @crispy toast
The fact that Gary Schwartz (Heavy & Demoman from TF2) was in the “Super Show” live segments makes this animation all the better!
Absolutely fantastic!!
He was Bravo Fox on Zoobilee Zoo. The voicew that Gary uses for the doctor in "Super Plant" is Bravo's.
What makes me a good demoman?
Ya know, for a kids show, grown-ups (especially parents) can really get a kick out of this.
The best shows were made so that the whole family could watch. Was it silly? Yes, but I also think that even today that Captain Lou and Danny Wells being live action Mario and Luigi helped make the show very memorable. And although it lasted two seasons, it left a huge impact on the legacy of Super Mario Bros. and helped it grow into the cultural icon it is today.
Cartoon parts ain't the best though.
Sigh.
So that messy room Mario left behind in Luigi’s mansion 3 makes sense now
I don't remember Mario having a Messy Room.
@@deionpehowdy He left pizza boxes in his room overnight
@@solarflare9078 Oh
I really miss grumpy Brooklyn plumber Mario Bros. The modern depictions are basically Italian Mickey Mouse and no edge. I know it's not Miyamoto's intention, but this is really the only way you can have speaking Mario Bros. in media.

The live segments from the actual show reminds me a mix between the three stooges and abbott and costello.
Same here
Lol Wait a minute, How you know about Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard
@@jessicathethreestoogesfan2635 I've seen the stooges since I was young and my dad was a fan of it when they were living and still around from his year. Of course, even Laurel and Hardy which those are the 2 guys started off before the Three Stooges that did slapstick as well.

Finally glad Luigi is standing up for himself! If he can't have a year of Luigi without mario trying to take it back, he'll take mario's instead!
2021 Real year of Luigi.
Mama Mia!
Beautiful models and beautifully animated.
Also have to give props to the original actors who sound like they really got into their roles. Considering the franchise was relatively new at this point in time, they didn't phone it in just because it was a kid's show.

This is absolute perfection! Also, let’s thank actors who played Mario Bros in Super Show for memories. (And yeah... they’re not in this world anymore)
The Demoman’s character in the show was actually voiced by Gary Schwartz. (Voice of Heavy and Demoman)
I could imagine this as an actual animated show that is how good this is
Luigi being angry is scary.
0:24 Well actually Mario according to Wikipedia article on The Pizza Box quoted verbatim. "Containers to deliver freshly baked pizzas have existed at least since the 19th century, when Neapolitan pizza bakers put their products in multi-layered metallic containers known as stufe (singular stufa, "oven") and then sent them to the street sellers. The aerated container was round and made of tin or copper. Disposable packaging started to be developed in the United States, after the Second World War. At that time pizza was becoming increasingly popular and the first pizza delivery services were created. In the beginning they attempted to deliver pizzas in simple cardboard boxes, similar to those used in cake shops, but these often became wet, bent or even broke in two. Other pizza chefs tried to put pizzas on plates and transport them inside paper bags. This partly solved the problem. However, it was almost impossible to transport more than a single pizza inside one bag. In this way, the pizzas on the top would have ruined the surface of the others.
The first patent for a pizza box made of corrugated cardboard was applied in 1963 and it already displayed the characteristics of today's pizza packaging: plane blanks, foldability without need of adhesive, stackability and ventilation slots. The combination of such slots along with water vapor absorbing materials (absorption agent) prevented the humidity build-ups that characterized traditional transport packaging. It is assumed by brand historians that the pizza box was invented by Domino's Pizza, even if they did not file a patent application. Until 1988, this chain employed a type of packaging whose front side was not directly connected to the lateral sides, but rather the flaps fixed to the lateral sides were folded inward under the lid. This design is also known as "Chicago folding". Domino's was the first pizza producer which employed pizza boxes on a large scale and in this way expanded its delivery range beyond the area immediately close to the pizzeria. Towards the end of the 1960s, the delivery service was further developed thanks to the introduction of heat-insulating bags."
There actually is proof in ancient rome and greece of pizza-like dishes existing. But actual boxes/containers to contain and carry the Pizza-like dishes never existed as far as we know.
SO GUESS WHAT MARIO. YOUR WRONG.
I spent way too long on this..............
yea but thats wikipedia. u can't trust shit on that site.

To be quite honest, I like these designs better than the current ones. These ones feel more animated, more expressive, has more personality, they convey a lot more attitude to them.
this was such a treat to watch! It doesn't help that I absolutely love the Super Mario Bros Super show, but this just made it feel all the more cooler. Thank you so much for making this!
I really love this segment in the show! Great Job!
Yep! Really hilarious XD
It’s even better that Mario and Luigi are based on their Super Show designs and not their video game designs
Those models of Classic Mario & Luigi look so good!
Luigi: be a clean bee.
My friend: be a lousy stinking clean bee! Ha ha ha ha!
One of my absolute favorite episodes of this show, reanimated in such a great way. I absolutely love this, and thank you so much for taking the time to make this.
This show was my childhood! So happy to see you've reimagined some of the live action segments into animation. The facial expressions are a joy to watch and really redefines the characters while still keeping the soul of the classic intact. Molto bene, paizano. Thank you for these.
Mario: “Man, where’s the Parmesan cheese? (crash/clutter) Uh oh!”😂
I'd like Luigi alot more if he was like this. I also like the idea of Mario being childish and scolded by Luigi like a father figure. I think this chemistry would work a lot better and you wouldn't have to change Mario's carefree attitude. Great animation! 👍
