- Today we are pond fishing with topwater lures only! I went out to two of my favorite ponds and decided to fish for bass with only topwater lures! We ended up catching a bunch of bass on some really cool lures! The bass were loving these topwater baits and it was an awesome day of bass fishing!

The first bass I ever caught was on a yellow and black devil horse 40 + years ago. Those were made of wood. Enjoyed the video 👍

Ok a mod to help you with the hellraiser. Take the back hook off and add a extra size 3 split ring to the existing split ring. It puts the hook farther away from the blade part and helps with hookup ratio. That blade does get in the way sometimes when they only get the back hook.

A lot of ponds havs shad but just about all have bluegill who will also wake the top chasing bugs and other small fish like minnows which somehow naturally end up in ponds lol. So the walking baits in various colors and sizes are great for any body of water.

That hellraizer is an interesting bait, I’ve caught a few on the 4” in ponds. Haven’t had any luck on the 5” yet. Definitely a cool bait though

Hmmm thats really weird
Bruh why when you miss one you reel it in so fast ??!! So many times I’ve had them come right back and hit it again I don’t know I’m not a pro or anything, just sayin in my experience I’ve had them hit it and come right back for it, my dad told me sometimes they’ll hit it with their tail first to knock it out and then come and eat it 🤷♂️
