    My aunt bought her best gold jewelry at Greenebaum's when she lived in Baltimore in the 1940's! I still have those pieces....a gold cross accented with a diamond and a topaz ring (her birthstone).

    Kind of an abrupt transition at 14:54--from a Dynasty promo to an ad for a refugee assistance program at a community college (which had a seven digit phone number--no area code necessary for a local call back in those days).

    4:36 I'm pretty sure I saw the movie "Grease" (Travolta & Newton-John) in the theaters, as opposed to on TV. I don't think I ever got around to seeing "Saturday Night Fever", though (except little clips of it, in ads)--that movie came out at least a couple years earlier.

      @@Cjnw Taylor Swift is beautiful, but her music (what I've heard of it) is lightweight pop... Might seem cool if you're a teenager, I guess.

      @not-so-smartaleck8987 Před 4 lety +1

      @tiffany curtis The music of that era was too "disco-y", though. I did like some of it, but it's not exactly what I would consider classic rock 'n roll (although it probably was better than today's music). And a lot of those TV shows were mediocre at best--Mork & Mindy, Taxi, Laverne & Shirley, Barney Miller, the Love Boat, Fantasy Island, the cartoons &/or The Muppets... I don't know if you were a little kid (or pre-teen to early teens) at the time--maybe this stuff "rings true" more for you than it does for me.

    why did dynasty's second season not start until November? anyway, it was one of the corniest programs around but then again everything was back then. I guess we were doing more than our share of drugs!

    • @pannoni8449
      @pannoni8449  Před 7 lety +4

      There was a writer's strike that delayed that season's programs, leading to extra reruns, including mini-series and TV movies that aren't normally part of the cycle. The 1988-89 season was also delayed to a similar WGA strike, while 1980 had an actor's strike.
