I saw it last week and I am still processing. Not what I expected but the clue is in the title, it is His Story. It blew me away. I nearly cried. I did not want Freddie to contract AIDS. Karen

Totally agree, Gwilym Lee had all the little vocal and facial inflections of Brian nailed and looked like him too.
Gwilym was fantastic as Brian. Brian himself did say that Gwil studied him closely when they had met.

And for the live aid there was a timing issue, some mistakes but most important Rami didn’t capture Freddie’s essence,Freddie wasn’t that feminism had charisma and was flamboyant on stage. He was on fire like in every performance but Rami wasn’t convincing. The movie is great, the actors who played Brian and Roger well spot on lol

Saw the film last week. It was hard to believe that Rami Malik was not Freddie Mercury. He really deserves an Oscar for that performance - in fact, all the actors do they were so believable. Fantastic film and I will be watching it again.

Pythonaria He deserved the Oscar he was amazing but you can not believe it wasn’t Freddie.. the body differences and the horrible fake tooth not to mention the eyes color. I really love Rami I’m a fan of him but sorry he was far from looking and souring like him. Only Gwilym and John looked like the real Brian and Deaky especially Gwilym it’s like they cloned the real one lol

Rami's decision to play Freddie in this film was such a risky move. This role could have literally made or break his career and he had to play a character that was a complete opposite to him. I really feel that instead of just copying every single movement and expressions that Freddie did, Rami did his own spin/interpretation of his character so it's like you're watching Freddie but you're also watching Rami
You are so right. My opinion on why this film has been such a blockbuster is that viewers dont realize it but they are drawn in by not only Freddie, but the charisma that is Rami. The amalgamation of the two is intoxicating.

Depending on how much singing Rami actually did he might not be eligible for best actor. If you he didnt do alot of it himself then he's just lip syncing and thats not considered acting. Not my words the Academy.

You know what...I just seen this movie today and next to me were a couple in their 50's and everytime the song part was playing I heard them kinda like humming to the song, and no...it wasn't bother me at all in fact it really amaze me how such a movie could bring such emotion so deep that I can feel that they were remembering back all the memories they have within the song. And I swear I heard sobbing in the theater! What a great experience....so let go and unleash your emotions

Our Mom wasn't quite sure on Queen in the 70s. Till She saw Freddie. And commented us. Well, He knows how to play the Piano correctly! So Queen was then accepted into our house. Nor more so than when I got the double VHS! A Staple in our house all the time! Especially Christmas! My Father's favourite tube was, I Want to Break Free!. We'd do all the actions! Ah what Memories! So. Thank You Queen!

As amazing as Rami did, a big shout out to Gwilym Lee who's portrayal of Brian May was uncanny. Great job, really helped the illusion that we the audience was watching Queen.
Best film for me this year Rami Malek as freddy was just amazing as were the other actors playing band members, obviously very sad at the end and the live aid scenes are amazing seeing the old wembly stadium in its glory just wow . Im going to view it again

@Rick Astley Anglo Indian actor James Krishna Floyd of ITV Series 'Good Karma Hospital' would have been a much better choice for the role than Rami Malek, in my opinion. Rami didn't look, sound or behave anything like Freddie himself. Also, if Malek didn't (or couldn't) wear brown contacts for the part, then the film editors could've easily changed his eye colour from blue to brown using CGI.

i saw this yesterday on its release date and i’ll tell you it’s the best film i have ever watched, i was so tempted to stand up at the end and applaud. the acting is so fantastic and it really captivates you.
It's incredible how spot on the actors look to the characters makes it all more enveloping to watch and leaves u with a sense of knowing them on a personable level .I LOVE this movie
