BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet.
The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury's lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

I saw it opening night and had an absolutely moving experience after. After the movie ended and the credits began to roll everyone in the theater got up and began to file out. Then they started showing real footage of Queen at a concert and every. single. person in that theater stopped dead in their tracks and watched them on the screen. Standing on the stairs, in the aisles, and at the exits they all, we all, stood mesmerized watching them play on that stage decades ago. And when the footage ended the audience erupted into cheers and applause. I openly and joyfully wept. He has been gone over 20 years. That footage was decades old and the very moment Freddie appeared we were all struck and our attention was so easily and readily given to him! He’s still, after all this time, an absolute show stopper. He took absolute command over an audience despite reaching us over a vast expanse of time. It was so moving to see how timeless a person can be that love for them and their art can live on indefinitely. It touched my heart and stirred my soul. Definitely gong to see it again💕

I saw this film opening night in Erlangen, Germany this past Saturday. I took my 2 youngest kids along and they loved it. My daughter kept on hitting me, Dad stop singing! I'm originally from NJ. During the ending credits in a sold-out theater, everybody remained seated til the end watching the raw film of Freddie with the 2 songs playing (Dont Stop Me Now and the Show must Go On). I will never forget watching QUEEN during Live Aid when I was 15 on MTV. The Greatest Live Rock Act to ever to be recorded on film. Prost/cheers from Bavaria. Whenever this comes out on Blue Ray, I'm definitely getting it.

John wrote a lot of there hits for the band ,and when Freddie passed John knew they couldn’t go on as good ,because Freddie WAS the band , and iam sorry to say I also think that way , if Freddie never joined that group there would not be a Queen band . Let’s face it he was QUEEN !! SORRY .... RIP DARLING !

Judy.....I think you are SO right! Freddie WAS Queen! A lot of Queen fans will equivocate about that and I see their point - to a small degree - b/c all 4 are true geniuses, no doubt about it. However, the incredible band that Queen had become could never have happened without Freddie. No mere mortal could've done what Freddie did. Brian Might have had great ideas, fantastic songs, as well as the others, but, the charisma that Freddie had, his unbridled passion, his ability to deliver a song w/such heart & exuberance as Freddie, NOBODY could compare to that. Not 10 Brians, Rogers, and Johns put together. They might've had a lot of drive, great ideas, etc., but it took a super human Freddie to meld all those talents together. Not to mention his gorgeous 4 octave range!
Brian and Roger Might have hit it big, but without Freddie to catapult them into the stratosphere, they would've just remained a fading Smile. (Pun intended.) 😃🕺😎
So, perhaps Freddie wasn't Queen per se, but, he was definitely the Essence of Queen.

You guys all seem to be forgetting that it was Freddie who wanted the band to continue performing. He wanted Queen's music to continue to be performed for generations. I, personally, think that Brian and Roger should be working with and training their OWN replacements NOW! They aren't gonna live forever EITHER.
Adam Lambert is loved by Brian n Roger, regardless of what all the whack-a-dos think. They didn't want an impersonator, but they knew they needed someone who could sing for 2 hours at Freddie's range and pitch. Adam can. (Remember at the Freddie Tribute, they had to lower the pitch for ALL of the singers 😂, and that was for JUST ONE SONG! I LMMFAO) Brian calls Adam their GFG - Gift From God.

The Live-Aid performance could not have been more spot on from the arrangement of the cups on the piano to Rami so eloquently mimicking Freddie's dances/mannerisms. Hell, Rami even did the little tongue flick and danced with the cameraman! I am a director, editor and writer and respectfully, it's impossible to try and pack a whole career into an entertaining biopic like this without chopping somethings up, that is with every single movie ever made if it be a true story or not. When you also have the remaining band on board guiding the film, they get final say what they want, given they only have a certain time frame to work with. People today want net flix and mini-series type shows where you get to see something step by step over several long episodes and seasons, you can't do that in a movie. It's always a stigma with these kinds of things. Same happened with Basically any rock biopic as well. People always go "NOPE! that didn't happen there!!" ofcoarse it didn't, Live AID's performance complete was a good chunk of the movie if shown complete and we expect to have the whole 20 plus mins? The art of filmmaking is taking a story and getting people to join the ride, but it's usually only under 2 or 3 hours depending. The directors and editors did a fantastic job with so much information, they had to pick and choose, that's how a movie is made. Now people can go out and watch Live Aid and all of the other things, search and discover on their own.

Every Queen fan complaining about the chopping needs to read the part of your comment about the band - the ACTUAL BAND - signing off on *everything*. That, alone, is rare to have as a lot of biopics are about people who are dead, sometimes with no descendants, family, or friends alive to tell the real story to the filmmakers. Brian and Roger approved everything, right down to the script and casting. Sacha Baren Cohen didn't get the job for a reason. And the final film version as we see it was released for a reason. Real Queen fans should consider themselves lucky, appreciate this great piece of film, and, frankly, stfu. (Can you tell I'm tired of seeing dissenting comments?) Your comment should have more likes and be posted below every single 'Bohemian Rhapsody' video on CZcams.

To be honest, i genuinely could sit and watch the movie for an hour or two longer, it was just so good i can’t put it into words! unfortunately there’s been a lot of bad reviews about it, but i just think people need to understand that rami wasn’t meant to exactly COPY freddie, he was just meant to make an impression/ take the essence of him hence why he had a movement coach rather a choreographer. i definitely think the movie was as good as it could have been, and rami did a spine-chilling good job! i think it was a great idea to make this movie, so this generation and next generations to come can truly indulge in queen and freddie mercury, it’s what it they deserve.
    -sasha, love your videos! :)

Lots of movies have been made to last 2 & half hours, and a few even were three (e.g. "Dances With Wolves" starring Kevin Costner & "Legends of the Fall" with Brad Pitt. Both movies were box office hits & nobody seemed to care that they were watching long movies because they were so good the time just went by. I think "A Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "We Will Rock You" should not have been cut out, but especially "We Will Rock You" because it was one of their all time best hits ever, and It's so cool to hear the crowd singing and clapping with Freddie, and we really got into it in real life. I went to see Queen in high school and we were all stomping our feet and clapping and singing at the top of our voices, and it was my favorite song in the concert because of that. It was only second after Bohemian Rhapsody to me). Geez, they play it all the time at college and pro basketball games! Also they should have left in the seen of how John Deacon got the position of the bassist. He doesn't always get a chance to really shine like the other 3 bandmates. In real life, the concert only focused the spotlight on him once or twice, but the other three got more spotlight moments. They should have given him more spotlights in the movie I'm guessing (I haven't seen the movie yet). He wasn't all over the stage like Brian May when he was occasionally spotlighted running around the stage several times, and Roger Taylor pounding & going crazy on his drums. Deacon kind of stayed in one place on the stage and was perfectly happy to dance around his designated space. He was shy. Maybe it was his personal choice not to walk around the stage, but the spotlight could still have shined on him more than it did. He's an awesome bassist! Please send me some cool "Bohemian Rhapsody"stuff, lol😁😎

I read that Deacon said he wanted Freddie to be out front because he's the front man and that's why they call that position frontman Deacon seem to be more comfortable where he was at but it's crazy I think he had three number one hits that he wrote but I think he was shy and he wanted Freddie Mercury to shine and pull the audience in
