If Grandpa was "super into watches" he would've kept the box and papers for his Rolex
My dad has a Rolex that’s his daily wear. I don’t think he still has the box or papers for it.
I've got a raggedy old movado that i still have the box and paperwork on, and that thing was only 350. I think if I had a rolex, I'd carry the papers on me lol
A grandpa here.....I have all of my boxes and paperwork.
The guy with the watch is full of it and what he carrying as his purse it’s a travel make up bag lol

I only watch your channel from time to time but what I really love is that you're extremely patient, knowledgeable, and professional dealing with your customers! I've been a bartender for 40 years and people always say to me, "man, how do you do it? How do you deal with all of these idiots?" All I can say is that you and I have very similar styles. Always being respectful, always being aware of your environment, being assertive without being agressive or confrontational, and extreme patience usually helps keep me and my staff safe.
You are very polite to these “customers”.

Everyones grandpa is a totally legit, stand up, veteran, hero, never did anything bad, good guy.... ya know. Lol😅😂
Or they got it from California.
All share the same Grandpa, all related lol
Anyone else think it's strange that he's obviously right-handed and wears his watch on his right wrist?
It tugs on heart strings while seemingly plausible. People who are privy know better.
Man, you have an unbelievable amount of knowledge.
Dude, you have some really strong patience! I wouldn't be able to resist calling these fools out!

All these Grandmas and Grandpas having valuables waiting to be sold 😂😂
All live in California or Florida 🤡
And in all cases they`re dead or live thousands of miles away lol
Saying grandpa like it's an old treasure but it's a 2012 lol
the second kd wth the fake rolex " i was with him hen he bought it so she let me have it" i would have said and now since hes dead lets sell his memores huh? seen how the boy reacted- and just played into the coldness of selling memores of loved ones....
Reminds me of college days, most of my classmates had their grandma pass away 3 times during the year so they could be excused from class
The first scammer is trying to find a pawn store who will give him the $1900 thinking he doesn't know what he has and how much it is worth. So it would take 2 shady people to make that transaction.
This is the only logical thought on that guy.
It’s not shady if that’s what he asks for the watch. It’s shady if he doesn’t say a price and then 1900 is offered to him.
@@halosrustythat’s not true actually. It’s happened many times someone has sold something for a low price, like a work of art. If it can be proven that the buyer knew it was worth more than what was paid you can be sued. Happens with art a lot, example you pay $100 for a million dollar painting
Bingo, most scams rely on the mark being greedy.
Was about to write the same thing
The guy bringing in the AP for $1900 is hilarious 😂
And this was the first video of you guys that I’ve ever seen. Super interesting content!
Gotta love Pete! So cool, so respectful. So certain about all of these scammers. Great job Pete! Really enjoy how u dismantle the scammers! Love it!!!

Hello from Romania! I just discovered this channel and I love your content! Thumbs up!!!
Rolex with a Quartz movement made me spit my coffee!🤣🤣
The reason the scammer videos are so popular is that we, as the general population, love to see the bad guys defeated. It seems like in todays world the bad guys are winning every battle. With the hoards ransacking department stores to just scammers who rip off a single innocent person. These videos make us feel like there is hope. Great to see the bad guys lose and the good guys win!!!
I think youre right on the money there. Im obsessed with all kinds of scam videos and I am personally distraught with the bad news every single day so it checks out lol

The biggest clue is when someone comes in wearing knockoff brands, like Lou Vuitton.
Or looks like the prototypical tweaker
@AquaticGems can you hear his voice lol? Sounds like an opioid addiction going on...with a very high (pardon the pun) possibility of speed.

Underrated comment
Not all pawn shop owners are "scammers" why would you think they are?
@@mikekoz6351 bruh. When the interest rate is north of 20% and they routinely low-ball people to turn around and double, triple, or quadruple their profit, I'd say that's dubious at best, a scam at worst. They never do 'favors' that aren't in their best interest. It's just a legal form of scamming, much like banking.
Spot on
Showing the montage of your shop in between scammer clips is great!
You handle these situations with so much grace. Good for you.
The watch scammer had a laser focus on Pete's face, looking to see if he believed him until he realized the jig was up. 😂

Concerning your guitar thief:
1) you need to park your car closer to the entrance.
2) don’t just drive 2 to 3 minutes, drive around 20 to 30 minutes because he’ll be coming out from his hiding spot after some time. 😂
Cheers from Germany
This is so cool. When you are telling us context about the thief, over your left shoulder behind you, i see a fish tacklebox in the same color scheme
Love that you have pets in the shop. Empathy for birds and animals tells a lot about a person🙂
I was just thinking how happy I’d be to walk in there! I’d be one of those annoying people that sticks around too long, petting the cat and baby-talking the parrot. 😂
Sorry to be one of 'those people' but really doesn't in reality. Hitler was a passionate animal lover, a vegetarian and had a dog he adored. There's videos of him petting and cuddling with his dog. A simple care for animals does not automatically mean a great person. In fact, studies show that an over the top sense of care for animals is a common sociopath trait. A large percentage of sociopaths were found to have an odd fixation on animal care.
Birds ARE animals...
I just hope nobody would ever hurt the animals....... Like some subhuman trying to rob the place or something
Mentiras, there are no studies. A few stori a written in the first person and opinion pieces but no studies.
First red flag “Its my grandpa’s”

Just a FYI, Rolex did make quartz watches for a bit in the 70’s. I’m sure that one was fake since he said he was with his grandfather when it was purchased but also said he had no idea what era it was from. Awesome video as usual.
You are absolutely right. My father in-law bought one in the 70's and it's now my husband's. I also have the box and paperwork and original receipt which I think is pretty cool. I mean not many people have them I don't think, well not real ones anyway

I’m a reseller now full time but still work as an optician for Walmart. The amount of theft in one year would blow your mind. The individual scammer in the beginning most likely possessed a collection of counterfeit designer clothing. Knowing the watch wasn't authentic, he likely anticipated a buyer taking the risk, hoping for a jackpot.

its not in perfect condition
It’s a 1958 reissue, built to vintage specs but modern production
There's zero chance it's a '57, even the guy selling it tries to say "it's redone" (I thought he meant refinished at first until it clicked) and "there's no way it's a real '57"
So honestly, he's asking a pretty fair price for it. It looks like it's a Made in Japan "Vintage 57" which can easily go for 2k USD in good shape. Hard to tell the condition and the year would matter a bit, but yeah. $1300 definitely isn't unreasonable, at all.
