Fasnacht is a yearly tradition around Switzerland usually taking place between February and March. It is a carnival with brilliant costumes of characters representing the cities or cantons they have significance of and Guggenmusik where it is tradiionally played. The height of the celebrations usually takes place before and after Ash Wednesdays.
For the past 3 years, the carnival in Bern is cancelled due to the pandemic. It is one of the biggest carnivals in Switzerland. This year, even though it was not scheduled, the people are permitted to pop-up and celebrate. People played their instruments, wore impressive costumes and brought in a lot of lively vibes.
