You are a remarkable teacher. Tante grazie.

Very useful video, thank you. When we visited Italy in March I'd been taking daily lessons for two months, but still struggled when I needed to say that we had booked a table. We ended up being seated away from the other diners and to make things worse I received an email from the booking app to say that we had failed to honour our booking. When we return next month I'll be better prepared.
I’m so happy to hear that it helped 😀 Thank you 😊 wishing you all the best for your next trip
Thank you!
Thank you, this video was very well done
My pleasure 😇 So glad you enjoyed it 😀
I am going to Rome w/my Daughter for the first time next month, this was so helpful! Thank you

This was very helpful! Visiting Italy for the first time in October - spending quite a bit of time in very rural areas where my ancestors come from. Took the language in college but that was over 10 years ago so this video was a huge help! I am nervous to speak Italian to locals but then I remember that I have had previous interactions with Italians when family have visited in USA and they are always extremely helpful and patient when you speak Italian with them. They really appreciate the effort!
I’m so happy to hear that 😀 Thank you 😊 Have a wonderful trip 😎Don’t be nervous, Italian are very forgiving and supportive. Have fun with it 🇮🇹
If you are spending or if you spent of time in rural areas you are "BRAVO AND INTELLIGENT".. ciao 🇮🇹
@@nadiarossetti9004 I just got back! Loved the rural areas. The food was great and inexpensive. The locals were very nice
3 weeks before i head to Italy. I am a fast learner. I will get this down 😊
I am coming to study in Padova, Italy. I am already comfortable using these phrases. Grazie mille per lezioni.
Ottimo! Grazie mille 😊
Per le lezioni. It's correct. Please use articles.

This video saved my Fun times in Rome. I'll be visiting the Vatican next month.
Have a wonderful trip! 😀
Just been to Italy and managed to to order food and drink so was very happy. I did come unstuck when I tried to order a "Primi" and ask if it would be possible to share it with my wife..got there in the end but it was a struggle! Thanks again
oh that’s wonderful! So glad you had a wonderful time and spoke as much Italian as you could 😊🇮🇹❤️
Were you able to share then? I'm going to Italy soon and I already know I won't be able to eat pasta and pizza and meat after that. I'd like to try many things though so since I'm going with a friend I'd like to be able to share
@@romanebernard5695 Italians don't have any issues with sharing it's traditional to share food with friends and family
I had a couple of years to learn Italian since my last visit, but NOPE, I’m doing this two weeks prior to my travel 😂
WELL DONE!!!

Bravissimo contenuto
Ottimo ( not bravissimo)
Yes it is beautiful country and I like to learn language
Until now I thought that the only thing I had to say , in any case , was "vincenzo roccara squarcialupi brancaleone".
Grazie mille per l'informazione
Ma sei bravissima 😀
Grazie davvero 🙏
🎉😂 Thank you..❤
Hi! Is DEcafe popular in cafès ? Or is it only served in 5 star hotels ?!
Yes. It’s served in most places 😊
Thank you beautiful nice smile😍🌷🌳
When you are at a restuarant do you order all of your courses at one time or do you order them as you go?
Usually all at the same time
@@theintrepidguide thank you so much! I have a trip to Florence in 1 week and I am so nervous about ordering at restaurants!
My pleasure! How exciting 😀 If you’re nervous, why not join my Italian for travel course? There is a whole module on ordering food 😉 Plus you get lifetime access to the video lessons, materials, and the Facebook group for support. Here is a link to join bit.ly/IntrepidItalianCourse
As an Italian I can say that a "Primo" and a "Secondo" can be ordered together. The waiter then brings "the Primo". Once the first dish is finished, he brings "the Secondo". For example, when someone enters a restaurant and sits at a table, he can say, after having a look at the menu…….Per Primo (first course)prendo Spaghetti alla Carbonara e per Secondo (second course) prendo una bistecca (a steak).
@@aris1956 Grazie mille
Trying to learn as a tourist . I’m Scared I might offend them since i say some word like Spanish, since I speak Spanish it sounds familiar. Thank you this helps !!
As Italian I can say for those who speak Spanish it often happens that in Italy people use Spanish words thinking that they are also “Italian” words. For example many say “Gracias” instead of “Grazie”. :)
@@aris1956 thank you ! By any chance do they get mad if I do that . Because I know I say grazie as gracia :)z
@@bird553 No, Italians are very forgiving :)
I'm so glad! :) If you'd like to learn more I have a travel Italian course which will help you be conversational in 2 weeks. You can find all the details here bit.ly/The-Intrepid-Guide-Courses
bird553, I’ve seen people have full conversations, one speaking Italian and the other speaking Spanish, and no one was bothered by it. As long as you’re polite it will be fine. It’s like a reunion of estranged cousins when two Romance languages navigate a conversation :)
I don't drink tea but my wife does. Is it acceptable just to ask for un tè con latte if she wants tea with milk?
hello!can i ask something about the confirmation of the reservation in a restaurant?? when the stuff call me in order to confirm my reservation, how can i answer? saying '' hello'' ? another way/word?
Do you mean call you on the phone? You answer the phone by asking “pronto?”
@@theintrepidguide yes exactly! But in english! how i could answer polite!
Like Italian language and music
Wow! Very useful! Pls, can you also do a video how to get a meal in Ikea? Thank you very much!
Could you slow down with the conjugations
❤
A good summary. Can I not order a first course, say pasta, skip the second course and then order dessert? I'm still trying to understand the protocol. I will persevere...
did u find out yet
Of course you can.
Sure, you can.

congratulations is very good the Lesson but i rather if you speak more italian than inglish please best regards
Hi, What did say?
E l'apericena?
better with caption
I drink my cappuccinos in the afternoon, what am I supposed to do?
I drink it all the time (even in the evening)
People here think i'm weird (traditionally is only for breakfast)
but who cares! Cappuccino is always awesome!! 😄
I'm American and that's what I usually do when I'm at a restaurant and I want something sweet afterwards
If you drink a cappuccino after 12 am you can be caught by police. It'a a joke! We are honored to have with us in Italy (sorry for my english!)
@@HeWoNe Allora: alla Sua salute! (This is a matter of traditions clash, I think: for us the concept "Drink a cappuccino after 12 am" do not exists. Sorry for my english)
music transitions are extremely loud in beginning it makes my parents wake up in morning practice
Dream country I wish I was live there🌿❤️🙏🏡🥘 Mamma Mia
❤️🌳🌿🐣
Haha, just got back after traveling across Italy for 3 weeks, here is where I went using the AMAZING Italian public transportation system”…all over Rome, Ostia Antica, Orvieto, Florence, San Gimingiano (Tuscany), Assisi, Florence, Bologna, Ravenna, Rimini, Modena, Padua, Mantua, Milan and Turin. Here are my observations. Most young Italians are pretty fluent in English (in fact, I think they are a little insulted if you assume they don’t). Most Older Italians no at least some English. If you know a few Italian words and use hand signals it can help. The easy part is saying a few Italian words. The HARD PART is understanding Italian when it’s fired at you like a major league fast ball. It takes watching many many many videos (and lots of study and practicing) to do that. As soon as you start using your “Italian” with your horrible American accent they usually switch to English 😂😂😂
hai un canale in italiano? Capisco molto italiano. Preferisco sentirti parlare italiano più che inglese, per favore
That one piece of rogue hair. I want to move it so badly.
R you Australian?
Yes. With Italian heritage 😊
@@theintrepidguide Yes but love that Aussie accent!! Keep up the great work.
Italians usually order a ''cappuccino'' with a ''cornetto''. But then again, anything is possible.
If you come to Milano, or to Northern Italy , we don't say "cornetto", we say "brioche ".
5 type of cornetto maybe in the north part of Italy. Here in South we have many more variation 😉
Didn’t know that prego had more meanings than you’re welcome. Italians don’t say per favore. Mi piace/non mi piace can come off too strong or rude to Italians. Italians do not say scusi/scusa when getting someone’s attention. Mi scusi means sorry/excuse me when bumping into someone informal and scusami and scusatemi are formal, mi displace means I’m sorry when being late or if the person at the till doesn’t have want you were wanting, there’s several ways to say thank you and I like/I don’t like without coming off strong or rude.
Ti sei dimenticata del cappuccino…😂
I have tried to learn Italian, and also German,Spanish and French.I am useless
at each Language(2 out of 10).I am trying to learn Italian again now.(2 out of
10 again).If I went into a Coffee Shop in Italy,I would sit down at a table,I would
then look at the menu.I would choose a coffee from the menu, and then catch
the eye of the waiter.I would point to him on the menu,in what coffee I would
want. The waiter would bring the coffee.I would then settle the bill for the coffee.
It is easy as that.
So when in doubt, say Prego.
Well, the capuccino it's a coffee with milk and a little bit of chocolate! And the caffee shackerato, it's a shaked iced coffee, not just an iced one!
Penso che "Belpaese" sia una definizione ironica, e lo dico da italiano...
It was actually quite frustrating that cafes do not expect one to not have coffee and croissant. They roll their eyes and pretty much ignore your order! In the end, I found some cafes that will offer Americano- scrambled eggs and ham and an orange juice.
Visiting Italy asking for foreign food is sign of ignorance.
idk why im watching this video im italian
99% percent of real italians will only order un caffè al bar..the rest is for tourists. 😉
Iˋm allergic to male 😂
General rule; if you have to ask, "Is it ok for me to wear/do ----?" Then don't do it.
Do NOT ask for Vegemite on your pizza!
Lost me at conjugating. I’ll point instead
I’m dying for your smile you’re very cute omg 🥰🥰💕💕💕💕
