Gravity missle looks great I love my mage invasions its so good and that skill definitely looks insane for zoning. I see major fp issues for this though especially if youre in a long invasion. Sick invasion build though I might try out something similar looks fun.
FP is not a problem this is completely spammable, less than star shower
Fun fact, if you cast gravitational missle in a way that it floats then immediately do the microcosm spell they both explode around the same time

i was running this setup the other day! I used trolls greatsword though. I also had miriams to mage teleport out of waves into the Grav Explosions for cover. Used the incant staff so i could still use honed bolt from cover
Surprised you didn’t equip Comet. That spell is gold for ranged punish and can single-handedly take out aggressive ganks w. Endure.
I used pure int build not for spells , just for frost and it out put the most damage for me, especially the Ash of war

You should try the putrescence spells. I know that guy in chat said this was the only good spell, but the putrescence was are really good too. And extremely fun to use.

I use the Kris dagger in the open world all the time, super strong and FP efficient. And now that we have a FP regen talisman, I never run out! Also it can hit for 1100-1400 damage on phantoms

@@HDGaminTutorialsnot really you can get the same damage output as comet and the projectile is a lot faster giving people less time to react to it. From my experience fighting it in the coliseum it will catch you off guard just because of how fast it is
Any good player will not get hit by it but yeah a bunch of noobs will for sure
This spell is so good. It has several mix-ups simply based on where you aim it and it covers you while you refill on blue.
In addition to the insane range, the FP cost on Gravitational Missile is basically free compared to other (worse) spells.
Also, as a mage, I find this video very offensive.
It always baffled me how many Int build players overlook Wave of Darkness. It’s fucking nasty on a proper build. Same with Golden Land, Golden Land Zwei has won me so many invasions on a faith build
Golden Land on Great Mace won me a lot invasions because no one respects Greathammers anymore. They get in and get blasted
Melee caster has instantly become my favourite build because of Vanishing and Grav Missile. There are so many cool and weird little nuances to how they work that give you so many odd mix-ups and tricks you can pull. Gravity missile has the most timing variety of any attack in the game.
Funny that you talk about nuance when the entire purpose of this video was to show that mages are braindead with him just spamming L1 and L2
@@kaiok6776 The most braindead things in the game are all melee (swift slash, blindspot), and there was even more before patch. Does that mean all melee is braindead because these things exist? Ofc not. Mage has one of the highest skill caps in the game.
@@neocortx-erpvp such cope lmao, high skill cap to spam grav missile, ancient death rancorcall, rykard rancour and triple rights of light while spamming star shower and praying that the enemy gets hit in the middle of the AoE? Or gets bored enough of chasing you around and start suiciding into slicer or panic catch flame. I play caster and I know how this goes, just spam everything and finish with a cover spell that lets you drink a blue
@@kaiok6776 If your enemies die to the stuff you mentioned, then they simply suck. Playing mage properly has a high skill cap. Doesn't matter if a bad player such as yourself doesn't know. That's not my opinion btw., but pretty much established from anyone who's good at it. Just ask Omega (arguably the best ER duelist), he considers mage among the most difficult ways to play, if you want to do it well.
Killing people with strong options from your build if they're bad is always easy. That says nothing about the skill cap of playing it perfectly, especially against good players.

Life hack here, have a knife with raptor of the mist aow as secondary and dodge spells with it , i like to see mages spamming and getting frustasted while i cheese dodge their spells.
cold sword lance with the new drill ash is good, and it looks like you're using missile in places collapsing stars might have more reach

I have been cooping my way through to ng+7 to support the invasion community a bit even though I despise Elden ring PvP. An invader came into a fully populated belurat tower dungeon. Rather than engage in the unique PvP mode of this game and use the level, they promptly downed all their red flasks and tried to start duelling all the phantoms I'd summoned. Hearing that good invasions are so hard to come by has me scratching my head at this behaviour more than I already was.
Using the enemies as cover is seen as "shitter behaviour" by a big chunk of the community. People think you are supposed to win 3v1s raw with no enemies or cover.
@@youtubewanderer3347 interesting. I just saw this as a waste of my time and a waste of a prime invasion slot. I felt absolutely justified in firing off a few spells to remove him from my world and freeing up that slot for a genuine invader.
Lv 150? Didn't you say that lv 125 was more than enough to make a real build for any class, and anything above that defeated the purpose of making a build?

Both in invasions and in tournaments. Especially in tournies I always see the samey Dex builds...

These builds work so great, because when people see mage, your instinct is "get close, punish his casting".

Question: doesn't azurestaff give you max castspeed? so you could replace radagons tali for another if im not mistaken?? or did they change that during dlc?
Now, I won't say that casting builds are more skillful or fun than melee builds. But I will say that watching PvEs disintegrate because they can't just blender the invader to death is *really* funny.

Every build other than str has there main stat go higher than vigor lol that’s how the softcaps work arcane, faith, dex and even str when one handing all softcap at 80 and vigor at 60 at high enough levels all builds other than two hand str or one that specs into two stats should have their main stat higher than vigor

Faster queue. I’m not entirely sure how it works, but invasions always seem to come faster with finger spam.

If you just use the one finger and leave it on, it only checks for available invasions once every thirty seconds (when the “attempting to invade” message pops up). Spamming between the two fingers refreshes the search much more frequently

idk if this is always the case or only in Colosseum but when I did 2v2s the other day, my opponent would use this spell and when he casted two balls, the first one would always immediately disappear on my screen, even when it was still dealing damage and had not exploded yet. It would still explode though only I couldn't see it... So it's like automatic Desync on demand... (Steam version)

@@Gankstomperi mean sure it’s not death but it’s kinda like surrendering in a way. Obviously in this specific scenario it was actually such perfect timing. In general tho severing would be akin to retreating aka surrendering in most games. It’s almost like protecting stats instead of just playing out the invasion, you used to be able to do this in R6 where if you were losing you’d leave right as the game ended to protect stats. Not to take away from the build or the video bc it’s pretty insane, but I’ve seen this deathless label used before and it starts to lose its meaning if you just bounce out anytime it looks like you’ve lost aka surrendering

Surrender and lose are kinda different in an asymmetrical pvp system like this. The fact the invader is at a dozen disadvantages makes it a stretch to call ANY outcome a "loss".
In some really terrible situations I'd even call managing to sever a "victory" of sorts. Despite the game bending over backwards for the PVEers they couldn't manage to kill the invader.
It's nuanced really.
