- CORRECTION! Tombstone's weapon is made of S7 tool steel, not AR500. My apologies, everyone. Also! According to the BattleBots Wiki site, Witch Doctor has now surpassed Tombstone as the most Match winning Bot of all time.
Tombstone is a box (coffin) shaped robot with a HUGE horizontal spinning bar attached to it!
Ray Billings (the creator of Tombstone) was quoted once saying: "My robot is a big weapon. It's unapologetically just a weapon." :)

Ray has a CZcams channel that is well worth watching. He has the broken spinning bar from the match with Witch Doctor, along with every other bar he has used in combat. He gives a deep dive into the steel and case hardening (he blamed the broken bar on the heat treating making the steel too brittle for combat). Well worth finding his channel as he has all the frames, everything, recorded.

@@BotFansUnited @ray9368 - Ray Billings -- Yeah he has bars of two different materials, he has a couple of bars made of AR500, a couple of bars of tool steel which require the heat treating, and combination bars of AR500 with tool steel heads bolted on, this gives you the shatter resistance of AR500 with the hardness of tool steel able to cut through AR500 armor. He was talking about shortening the nose of the robot, and reducing the bar length and mass, to improve the stability and handling and increase the weapon speed.

Tombstone has been competing since 2004. The 8 current seasons only include the ABC and Discovery era of BattleBots. BattleBots used to be on Comedy Central. I think there's technically 14 seasons of BattleBots in total. Or maybe 13. I can't remember how many Comedy Central seasons there were.

@Matyanson technically, Tombstone has only won 1 Giant Nut. But he does have 2 championship wins. One of them was back in 2004 at a charity event. But I'm not sure what the trophy was for that tournament.

@jonathanf2392 I think they were talking about surpassing Tombstone in total match wins, not in a specific fight. But yes, you are right. WD has indeed beaten Tombstone.

Interesting question. I did a little research, and it looks like Kraken might have the most losses. It's record is 6 wins and 23 losses.
