I think you should keep it light weight and make it rear steer from the help of the lizard pro. It could be the best comp rig yet.
If you can contact me I wanna to buying you this rig ! just put a number !?big fan of both of you and Josh ! Many thx please let me know
Just a heads up, what he’s building is not necessarily what he ordered. The two color (buddy pack) is the original caged slayer made to stock swap the scx24. What he’s showing is the “Caged Slayer PRO” and “PRO Wide”.
It's awesome brother 🙌
Absolute awesome video!!! So many thanks, brother!!! I got tricks on the links that make it easy. We talked but for anyone else, I’ve run them like that and they’ve held up but we’ll show the tricks off so they don’t break on install. Also, I got a couple tips for you in a PM. Great video and your words sent me to the moon! Thanks again!!!
Been watching your vids for awhile now. Glad to see you getting some exposure. Much love!!
@@texomarc any of them fit a furitek mini and Stella transmission?
@@nickhathaway4617 Any SCX24 trans will work
rig came out great..josh is a Awesome guy its about time his designs get respect
Texoma is killin it. Regardless of price, I haven’t seen anything better. Which is a testament when you consider all those pricey chassis that are out there now. That said, love all the options and driver skill is the ultimate differentiator. Great video and everyone should support Texoma RC!
Hard park dementor
@@MaxJB Ive played some follow the leader with a couple dementors with my slayer never lost leader spot. They are damn fine chassis tho
Omg i want one of these now the chassis looks amazing
I gotta hand it to you. We spoke and you listened 😊 I knew you would love it. Mine is right there with the best of them. Josh! Even a blind squrrel gets a nut now and then lol. Good job Adam!
What a beautiful build - and it's super functional, too!
Slayers are awesome. Love my basic Slayer. Brushed with the Dinky RC ESC. Incredible. 👍
Whoa! 😯 That's definitely different, but really cool, will admit! 🔥🤟🏻💪🏻
Appreciate your sharing, that is an awesome looking slayer catch you on the next one
Love texoma Rc. If you follow Adam you gotta follow Josh!!
I really appreciate seeing you review this chassis thanks man 🙏
Well I have to say, good job Adam for your honest review of the slayer. I've been watching Josh's channel for the last 6 months. It's been cool to see how he's progressed in his design. Gotta get one for myself...Rip till ya flip...
Thanks for watching!
Sweet looking build. Thanks for some inspiration!
You're killing me Adam. You keep ahowing stuff I didn’t even know existed! Now I have to build one of these!!
Lol i know the feeling, but ive known of the SLayer for a few months, this is not the first version. Its is BY FAR the best performing micro crawler. Some will say the HardPark Dementor but i have yet to see a Back to Back comparison, im sure we will soon though
That thing is SICK!!!
I definitely want one too! I want the warthog as well. I think both are super close to even on the comp level!!
Hell yeah Adam!!! Welcome to the Slayer Fam!!!🤙🏻
Saw this rig in one of your recent videos and HAD to come back and see what it’s all about. That is epic!
It’s a beast!
Looks, killer! Nice work Josh. Awesome review.
Thanks! I dig how it came out. Very cool setup
that looks killer for sure!
A TON to like here. Great build and love that you DIDN'T go brushless!
I'm super happy with the brushed setup!
Man I can see the Lord all over this channel buddy he definitely has blessed you one-hundred-percent to go for 14,000 just a few months ago to 27,000 subscribers is amazing and yes Josh is truly Innovative his stuff goes like no other and it really targeted you know crowd because you ain't got to spend $700 to have a top-flight rig
Exactly! I have no connection to Texoma but ill keep bragging on this Slayer because my $280 build on cr18p axles will out crawl any SCX, regardless of cost.
Texoma RC = 💪💯
Yeah right on Josh is a awesome dude, he should have 1 million viewers. I have one of his basic slayer been gathering parts for the last few months almost there ready to go together Yep we’re watching now
Yeah I like that gold and black looks awesome dude
Sweet rig 😋👍
I have decided you have cool toys. 😮 We should play outside some day. I'll show you my swing set. ✌️
Lets do it. But don't push me too high on the swings, I get scared
i like that one better than the angry sparrow i just watched u build love the slim style looks so cool an buy watching u build it looks like there is room for a mini komotto
that build is awesome. I think 4WS would be absolutely perfect
What about a couple of strips of grip tape up the setup board so the tires don't slide down it when measuring your vertical climb.
Thats a good idea. Or I may just replace the stubby blocks with some wider, beefier ones.
i love to see those slayers!! ive been wanting one but if i get one id get the frame rails so i can put a body on it.
Lol. I love seeing the slayers but if I had one I’d cover it up. Aaaaaahahahahahahaha! That’s a good one to end the night on! Much love, dude! Hope you have a great week.
@@texomarc Thanks! you to!
Looks killer. One thing I'd like to see is rear steer but it doesn't look like it could be set up for it.
I think you could make it work. You would have to do away with the rear link riser that comes with the kit but it shouldnt throw off the chassis too much. The rear section is wide enough to sit over a servo I think.
That looks INCREDIBLE. I'm just not a fan of 3D printed materials. So far, everything I've got that was 3D printed for my RC cars, has broken pretty easily. I wish it were titanium.
He prints in a very flexible material that allows it to sustain substantial falls/hits. I have only broken 1 Slayer chassis so far and it wasn’t one that he printed. All 13 of the Slayers I’ve built and ran have had pretty gnarly falls (some to direct concrete) and have yet to break. Give them a try I assure you will not be disappointed🤙🏻
yeah that's my fear, that they will;; break. prefer a metallic chasis.
Sorry man, on one hand, you’re right, it’s plastic and it’s gonna break after abuse. Problem: a ti slayer would likely not keep up, much less making the entire build more expensive as you tried to chase what could have been had for far less. It would be a downgrade for the sake of durability. It would look sexy AF, though, after you spent $1000 or more to do it justice. I will eventually come out with something in other materials but I don’t use PLA or resin, which are the two main printed materials you’re familiar with and that break and have given this awesome medium a bad name. I use PETG and keep most parts as thin as possible, allowing for flex, while strengthening others. Replacements, if you feel like it broke and shouldn’t, are always $5, shipping included. Spares for the link sets are 4 for like $8, shipping included. Hope you have a great week.
@texomarc Well that's reassuring, thank you
RTYF!!! Slayers are beast mode 100%
I recommend cutting the INJORA pin tires and throwing in the Furitek micro Komodo I hit 64 on incline and can crawl everywhere.
Slayers slay all lines rtyf 🔥🔥😍😎👍
💯
Rad build! Squat the front a half inch and I bet it'll go vertical. I get a big kick out of seeing them straight up and down. Btw, I think that was your little guy on a FMS ad I saw? Very cool.
Agreed! Yep, thats my little buddy on the ad!
Love the build, where could I purchase the white work mat you’re using?
Thank you in advance
What shock length would best with a c10/deadbolt link setup on the slayer?
Great content like usual. Just curious if it’s still your favorite comp chassis.
That Lizard ultimate and Slayer deserves some 3s. Breakovers so much easier.
I wasn't sure if that LGRP motor could handle 3S so I didn't try. Now that the video is up I can experiment a little more
@@CapeCrawlers very nice and Great content
Just curious about your motor choice… I was just watching your first brushless vid and you were stoked. I’m going to be installing a Lizard Ultimate, and I might try it with the brushed Injora. But I also grabbed a Stellar setup..
I wanted to mix it up. Josh at Texoma is a big fan of brushed motors, so I thought it would be fun to try that here. I miss the wheel speed of the brushless motor but I am very surprised how well this thing does!
Is there one for the trx4m or is this my reason to get the scx24 I have been wanting but couldn’t pull the trigger cause I just started the warthog trx4m build just waiting for everything to show up
You don’t like the 50T purple motor from Injora? I love it, it’s a beast for being a brushed motor.
A mofo 200 mah would be perfect for that!!
Agreed. I'm going to order some this week I think
Also with the big motor issue those skid plates are reversible so you can flip the transmission what if you flipped that big motor and just swapped the motor direction? Obviously can’t fully tell without having it in front of me but just a thought
With the slope of the cage in the rear I couldn't fit it backwards either. I could trim or remove that front piece to avoid the pressure. We'll see. I really want to try it, but then it leaves me with no place but the rear to put my battery. I'm going to keep messing with it!
@@CapeCrawlers I gotcha! That’s why I said without it infront if me I can’t tell but man Josh and I were talking about you putting that motor in! It has to happen bro!!! Lol hope you have a great day and can’t wait to see future Slaying🤙🏻
how do you keep your front shocks from lifting up when going up a hill? I have a gladiator scx24 and my injora front shocks lift up when I go up a rock and a hill.
Limiting straps. I use the LGRP limiting strap kit to keep the front end down
Can the SLAYER handle a stock SCX24 esc? Is there enough room under the roof for it?
where did you get that flex, vertical and side wall platform?
It’s crawler park, and I got mine on Amazon: www.toyswd.com/us/awesome-obstacles/10-set-up-system-table-124-118-rc-crawler-park.html
Wonder if he’ll make one for the UTB18
Any plans on getting the Furitek Caymen? Would love to see a video on that!
I would like to. It would be fun to do a comparison of the Cayman versus one of my personally built rigs, both in terms of cost and performance!
@@CapeCrawlers Now that would be really awesome to see! Hopefully it happens!🤞
Adam which shocks work best for this setup? I've got some 54mm but it looks like the shorter shocks might work better. Any recommendations?
In hindsight I wouldn't go any bigger than 43mm. I've got 48mm on this one and they work well but I think a shorter shock body would be overall better.
I love my slayer pro hd deadbolt #slayernation#RTYF
Could you do a more "child proof crawler" build?
When you say child proof, do you mean something hard to break or easy to assemble/drive?
@Cape Crawlers harder to break. I would also say lower speeds also. Kids love going where you tell them not to, the water, mud ,etc. They always smash into things.
I'm new to this but have seen alot of crawlers with now springs on the shocks just to keep the center of gravity lower? Seems like ground clearance would become a issue instead? Any info would be nice
It’s a trade off. Ground clearance does get decreased but the gain in performance from the low center of gravity is worth it. Most chassis’s, especially high performance ones, have really slippery skids and sliders so you can glide over obstacles
@@CapeCrawlers awesome. I'm going to have to try it on mine and see the difference.
@CapeCrawlers Thinking about getting into the hobby. This seems like a fantastic lower cost option. About How much was the rest of this build sir??? Like under 200, under 250, or.... ?
Hey Adam, is there any grip tires that are the same size as the Lgrp grippers because the rocks that I have the grippers would do horrible.
They’re 56’s? Trenchers are probably the best in that size, that I know of. They seem to work everywhere I’ve tried. I’m not Adam, just passing by. Lol. Hope you have a great week, dude.
Thanks you have a great weekend too 🎉❤
Grippers are ~62mm, so an RC4WD scrambler would be nearly identical in size. They also hook up incredibly well on rocks.
@@CapeCrawlers
My bad. It’s been a minute. Should have looked it up or left it alone. Thanks for the correction! Hope you have a great day!
Late to the party, are you running internal springs in your front shocks? I've never seen this good of results out of just removing the shocks. Mine always just unload at some point around 50 degrees and flip my trucks. They always look cool though. Great Build! Love the colors!
Thanks! No internal springs. The LGRP limiting strap does a good job keeping the front planted.
Just go with the brushless, you change them out anyway.
What do you think is the best performance wise scx24 shock size?
43mm I think. It's not too long to disrupt true performance but long enough to have some fun and flex
Awesome thanks!
Seems like most of my front drive shaft I got to take a rear drive shaft off of a Bronco or a C10 or something like that and cut it down I just take the steal one to cut him down
Yep, thats a good idea. I think a JLU/C10 rear would fit the front perfectly.
How many injora stickers do you have? 😂
Millions!
This or the warthog chassis? Starting a ground up build with one or the other. What are you liking better performance wise??
I love the warthog but I think I have to give the nod to the slayer due to the broader range of customization options you have. Performance wise they are very close!
Good thing Furitek didn’t file trademark infringement for copying the scythe 😂
That’s my favorite type of crawler, does that style have a name besides Slayer?
I’m not sure I understand this, if you have a SCX24 and you get this kit and switch it over to this chassis and I have a Slayer!?
If that’s right I can’t wait!
You got it. The chassis is called the Slayer. I guess the category would be a comp style chassis and/or belly dragger!
Is there any other place besides Etsy to get the kit
I don’t think so
I just think you should have put that little guy racing parts brushless motor in there then that things have Bistro I put it in one of my Rigs and I put a 14 tooth pinion on it and still has amazing low-speed and pretty good wheel speed on 3s
That would have fit perfectly in there. I still could do that. There is also a new motor coming out from Furitek I may try in this!
I would love to have something like this but it definitely doesn't look like it's for a beginner to build
Todays Sunday… what’s on the bench??
I would have put their new little brushless motor in there with a 13 or 14 tooth pinion and guess you killer will speed and it keeps you away from that 10/2 which is not enough will speed it does get a little warm but it's so small I keeps it out of the way
Do you prefer this chassis over the Warthog? Or would you recommend another chassis to build in the SCX24 scale?
Yes I do. This is my favorite 3D printed comp chassis by far.
Try skateboard grip tape so the car doesn’t slide off of the vertical ramp 👍🏻
Good idea!
When I go onto his Etsy store and there is only 4 products
that,s shithot love it
This chasis or the Mazz designs cheat code?
Oh man, I was waiting for this question! That's like picking blondes or brunettes.. both gorgeous and fun LOL In all seriousness, thats a super tough comparison. The cheat code is ultra refined, precision built, and is a better choice if you want to keep a body and a more scale looking crawler. The slayer is pure, raw, innovation. It's like a tangible creative expression of Josh's ideas and discoveries. You can almost feel his enthusiasm in the chassis. So I guess it comes down to what you like in a build as far as overall appearance, scale realism, and performance
@@CapeCrawlers I don’t think they’re could’ve been a better breakdown of the two contenders. I feel as though I like the mazz design just because I love a body on the crawlers. It would be cool to see a comparison of the two someday! As always, thank you for taking the time to reply, and share your wealth of knowledge!
You got enough cage parts, so make another that is black and gold.
I'm going to build one for my son. His favorite color is gold so he should dig it!
how much money would wont if you got a full set of super 8 axles and sent them to me ??
I can't get them. The guys at LGRP are in a transition period with suppliers. They've got a huge shipment coming soon though, 3X their usual shipment so there should be plenty I hope!
@@CapeCrawlers i mean i dont want to build them
I hope this guy at Texoma can get or make more, I bet he is just about out of parts.
He has been 3D printing non-stop for months. He's stepping up his operation as we speak. The hard part is figuring out which motor/ESC you wanna run.
Just got another printed ordered last night. So stoked. We got parts! They’ll keep coming.

Thanks for being all over the comments, bro!!! Hope you have a great week.
How much does a build like this cost
It would be ~$300 I think
@@CapeCrawlers can you plz show me and pin me the parts that I would need to buy so I could build it
Holy crap that is LOW
Slammed!
It looks so scary I don’t want to see it crawl
