Ok, so I have done a lot of Need for Speed Side by Sides, and they seem to be the most popular ones I have. So I decided to tackle Need for Speed Underground 2 for everything. The Gamecube, Xbox, Windows, Mobile Phones, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, and the PSP. I hope you enjoy it.

I recently went back, and played the GameCube version on my Wii which has an HDMI adapter for 480p 16:9 output, and it still looks nice to me, and unlike my copy of NFS Carbon Wii I don't have to use a Wii mote, and Nunchuck to play it lol!
None of these look playable except the pc version
NFS Underground 2 along with Most Wanted (2005) are one of my most favorite racing games ever, let alone compared to the other NFS games.
Don't forget Carbon too!

+Aurimas Bruzas Yes but consider this: Burnout Paradise ramp jumps were dependent on how well you took the ramp, MW12 on the other hand no matter how bad you enter the ramp the car will jump perfectly and it only relies on the speed you enter to it. that's not an advancement if you don't count graphics.

NFSU2's graphics were really impressive for their time. Even today, the game still looks pretty nice.
The first one still looks quite good today as well
You're the only person I've heard say they prefer the first Underground
lol. It's also possible because I played Underground 1 a ton, and only played this one for 1 hour on each console.

i remember reviews back then criticizing underground 2 more harshly than the first one,they found the open city to be gimicky and to have less interesting races than the first underground and also slightly worser graphics because its open world

This game is my childhood, I remember buying in the store with my father like the end of 2004 (I was 9 years old) I were stuck a lot of tome because I went to the car lot but i didn't know you had to press enter to enter in (lol) y discovered that like 2 years laters.
Btw I downloaded the game again, it's still awesome, even better than others nfs series of today.

When it comes to the blue GPS arrow it wasn't always showing the fastest route. Once you've gotten to know the city very well it was much faster to drive by yourself, without the arrow.

I recently played this on my PC @ 4K - it's actually pretty amazing. Glad it's still compatible with Windows today.
This is a very interesting video I had no idea there were this many ports of Need For Speed Underground 2 I used to have this game and I think I will get it again.

I still have this game on my laptop. It's a newer laptop, but definitely not for gaming. I could still run this game close to max settings which was pretty cool.

I used to play the GameCube one until I got the pc one. I was blown away by how much better it looked and I played the game nonstop until I got to the end. Then my pc broke right as I got to the last area of the game
I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers Underground 1, but I've only played the demo for 2 on a low performance PC a long time ago so maybe I should try again sometime. Great video as always :)
If you can find a cheap copy in good condition and have a wheel, then I strongly urge you to give it a try. I sunk a lot more hours into UG2 than I ever did in MC3, and I sunk a shitton of time into MC3

NFSU2 is still my favorite NFS game. PC version with mods and widescreen support that's all i need.

I got ever single one right except for the PS2 and Gamecube.
"Do you think you can guess the correct console based off these screenshots?" No, I didn't think that, but I took a guess and somehow nailed it. I've never even seen the handheld versions before, but I guess the graphics are varied enough to be able to tell.
Guessed all except for mobile correctly. Didn't knew which version the mobile one was before the result came up

The one thing I wish they gave you in this game is Caleb's GTO ar the end because that GTO is underrated and beautiful as hell.
Great vid, and surprising results. I mean obviously the Xbox was gonna be the best of the console versions. It was a lot more powerful. But I expected the GC version to look a bit better than the PS2 version, not worse.
Tes, the game with the mods that make the game look like real life but struggle on beaffy machines designed to render 3D movies and beyond.
I guess you should have multiple PC versions showcase for it, just to showcase different layers of mods, there are a tone.

You forgot that PS2 (and maybe GC, not sure about Xbox) is a bit darker than the PC version (same with the original NFSU), especially in the airport, which I prefer, because PC always was a bit too bright for me (I know it's in a city with many bright lights, but seriously, I shouldn't be able to perfectly see absolutely everything at night time).
This game looks beautiful on PC to this day.

My favorite NFS game ever
3:14 Nintendo DS's version of NFS Underground 2 also uses the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection in order to play Underground 2 with friends online. However, it got shut down in 2014 thus the online services ceased to exist just like other games like Pokémon and Mario Kart DS.

I haven't played it myself, but just looking at what's shown in the video, I kind of prefer the low graphics setting on the Windows version. The higher setting has a little too much neon for my taste. It kind of looks like you're racing through a Tron landscape.
I grew up playing it on the gamecube. Always knew the graphics were better on xbox, ps2 and pc but not by much.
PSP version of U2 is probably one of the best racing games made for PSP

Too soon to be released on that platform. It was even too soon for the NDS to be released.
I got 6/8. That nds and android one were a lil tough to tell. Well it was for me. Anyways awesome video dude. Also I recommend you check out turok evolution for a side by side.

I Actually Liked The PSP Version. It Has The Soundtrack From Underground 2, But Has Engine Sounds From The First Underground.
my history of nfs came first was nfsu2 i knew how great it was... it changed my taste in racing games... then most wanted 2005 then carbon... undercover prostreet and rivals... nfs made a name in the racing history

You can drive SUVs on normal race, but best is to drive them on Drag :-D Ugr 1 and 2 are my fav NFS games.
back then, i had a pentium 4 HT, Radeon 9800 XT, 2GB DDR1 ram, and two maxtor 80GB hard drives xD ahhhh the good ole 2000 - 2004 days playing this at 1280x1024 with 4x anialiasing and 4x anisotrophic.. before that, i had a Pentium 3 933mhz Slot 1, Dual voodoo 2 video cards 1.5gb SDRAM. both computers played games so damn smooth though.
Back then, I didn't know much about the hardware of the computers.
I stil playing this game on my modern PC and putting graphics overhaul mods on it. Play this game greater using my Xbox One S Controller.
I read at the comments as some people struggle to set up this game with XInput controller. You can use XInput plus and remap the key to avoid conflict between left and right trigger.

What I hated about the GC version was that downgrade needed due to the limitation of disk space in those Mini DVDs that the GC used, was graphically inferior and some of the music was edited to fit in the final version. What I loved about was the control scheme, it was more easily to drive than the PS2 version.
Esses Discos que a Nintendo usou realmente limitou o console em alguns jogos. A Nintendo repetiu o erro das fitas do Nintendo 64, onde o console não mostrou todo seu poder por limitação das fitas.
