"Extra's Jerry Penacoli sat down with Leonardo DiCaprio to chat about his new role in "The Great Gatsby," turning 40, and whether he sees marriage in his future.
I really appreciate how well-spoken and articulate Leonardo is. He has such a way with words and is extremely polite and tactful in all of his interviews. It makes me respect the person behind the talent even more.
***** I think the only thing that creeped me out more about this video is the girl in the yellow dress in the end staring and smiling at the camera unflinchingly.
I hate it when people continue to ask him about when he's gonna get married. He obviously doesn't want to get married any time soon so relax it's his personal choice
Yeah but DiCaprio's response and demeanor was absolutely brilliant, and the shocked look on that mangania's interview's face was priceless! DiCaprio schooled him. He was being coy in his response about future marriage, I think he is way smart to risk all that he has worked so hard for on such an outdated and dangerous concept as marriage. Just look at what is happening to Johnny Depp.
He takes his future as single man ''day by day'' = a model per year :)) Anyway, he talks so carefully and rationally, and his confidence makes him 100000000 times sexier! Big love for Leo!
"Day by day" as if he were channeling Jack Dawson there. "I love waking up in the morning not knowing what's gonna happen or who I'm gonna meet or where I'm gonna wind up ... You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you ... to make each day count."
Hahaha honestly don't know why I'm called that, I created the user when I was a lot younger. But I mean, its only as naughty as the person who thinks it is ;) And I agree, he seems tired of interviews
Leonardo diCaprio is intriguing, talented in fully becoming the character he' s portraying. I watched The Great Gatsby to see that era so lavishly presented but as it ended the tragedy of the character was what overwhelmed me. The death of Gatsby was so horribly painful to see. I've wondered about a real person's last few seconds of life after being shot and I think DiCaprio probably made me see the last few seconds of my son's life as they were. In some way this helped me to see beyond wondering what horror my son was going through; I could see the pain of life's infinite struggle leave. It feels terrible to write this but it was ultimately my personal connection to the movie, a revelation I didn't expect.
I absolutely loved this film and I firmly believe that it should have been nominated for Best Film at the Academy Awards. Beautiful performance and very faithful to the novel.
I could pick up some sort of tension (for lack of a better word) when the interviewer asked Leonardo about his single life/possibility of marriage. I wonder what exactly is going on in that beautiful head of his..
ChelseaMarie Worried about his money being taken off him by the ex wife after a divorce? Gay, so trying to avoid awkward questions about hetero marriage? Who knows?
Watching interviews of Leo makes me laugh because it always seems that when a guy interviews him, especially guys that are older than him, you can tell they are jealous of his A-list status and looks that give him the ability to get any woman and anything he wants. On the other hand, when women interview him, you can see them melting as he looks at them lol. Leo is so professional, well spoken, and is an incredible actor. As an actor jus starting out, I can only dream to have the carrer he has.
Its been fun watching this guy grow into the man hes become today....going from watch his recent work but also his earlier movies....I appreciate it his work so much. hes one of the only actors I can watch his oldest movie and still enjoy it! Gilbert grape is still a movie im always watching and it still moves me.
Dear Leonardo, thank you for the wonderful art that you give us. Not often we can really see in interview not only a "star" , but smart and interesting personality. God bless you for help to animals that you do. You deserve to be happy, hope you are. Sorry for my english, i am russian. Please never stop, the world needs people like you.
He's got it right, take it as it comes, take it day by day. Never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties.- Matt 6:34 Take it a DAY at a time!~
This is the 3rd interview I've watched of Leo for Gatsby and all the interviewers grill him about getting older and not settling down. It's so irritating. He's Leo DiCaprio...if he wanted a wife and kids, he could easily have them! He leads an extraordinary life and he's arguably the best actor of our generation. Stop trying to make him feel weird for not following the boring, conventional path of getting married. He always answers questions so graciously though! Very down-to-earth guy.
@@marykacyy6802 If Leo ever got married, all his new bride would have to do is say she's "unhappy" after X years of marriage, divorce him and she'd get half, if not more, of his wealth and assets. All for spreading her legs a few times. The modem concept of marriage is a joke and Leo seems to be one of the few famous men who get this. And Keanu Reeves. If you're rich, marriage just isn't with it. Or, evern if you're an average guy! Just don't do it. The governments have empowered the woman to destroy her man any time she wants. But some men are smart enough to keep hold of the money they earned by not signing that legal (marriage) contract with the state and the woman.
I always believed that he would be perfect for the lead role in "The Catcher in the Rye"... IF it ever was made into a movie today... but all the same, he was a perfect Mr. Gatsby, another one of my favorite novels.
wait... i respect your opinion, but I think he doesn't fit the role. Holden is too normal, Leo is too overrated and at the same time underrated. if you know what I mean.
+Bumble Bee yeah right. i really really don't want to see a Catcher in the Rye movie in a Pop Culture generation. i mean, I would've wanted to see it if the movie was made in the 80's or 90's. But I'd rather die not seeing a film because the book is enough, more than enough for me. God, I am so happy I can talk to somebody with the same interest! Nice chatting with you, too, Bumble Bee. Have a nice Spring, too. though ut's "Have a nice Summer" for me, because I live somewhere in the Southeast of Asia. :)
I always admire you Leo! You are my Idol. You're not only a Great Talent but also a Kind-hearted Man. You are Great, Great, Great Man. You care to others and our beautiful planet, Love you so much! Hope one day I can meet you
Ha! Good one. I can't see him settling down really and as you said, it's not relevant to his work so why would they question it? Probably to scrutinise him more. Leo seems too busy with his work anyway to really have a mate, although he does have his model girlfriends as companions.
”miserably married” bro what the hell just because your relationships have failed doesn’t mean it’s for everyone and being married with someone, sharing ur life with them your whole life IS THE BEST THING EVER!! and leo has said he wants children someday which is cute! shut ur mouth :)
Leonardo is crazy to get married. Here is why: 1) No state in America views marriage as a binding contract. It is called "No Fault Divorce." 2) The minute she is pregnant with his child she is locked into his income for 20 + years, whether she stays with him or not. 3) Women are initiating around 70% of all divorces 4) In light of all the hostility against men, false allegations from her are highly probable if she gets mad at him or needs the leverage in a custody battle. 5) He has the financial resources to go through surrogacy to have a child, if he wants one. A woman can carry his child, give birth to it, and it is his child only. No woman can ever take it away from him or minimize his time. He can have female friends but the kid always will stay with him. Besides, this woman is going to end up costing him plenty so why throw the money away on her, which is a huge maybe. 6) She is too young. She may think that she knows what she wants but the reality is the average age of divorce is 30 years of age. she is only 21 years-old. She will change quite a bit by the time she is 30 years old. 7) I will predict that she will be pregnant within a couple of years of first getting married and they will be divorced in 5-7 years. You heard it here first. 8) Getting married without a prenup is insane and utter stupidity!!!!
