One thing I have done for preventative maintenance is to drill a small hole, about 1/8" into the end of the valve housing, next to the handle rod. This allows me to periodically spray some silicone into the valve to keep it lubed. Make sure the hole is big enough to accept the tube that comes with the spray can. Install a course threaded screw into the hole to seal it.

The handles are backwards as far as grey handle to the gray tank and black handle to the black tank.
The handles are not backwards. The handle on the right is gray, but it looks like it’s black because the handle on the new valve is metal and it’s silver.
When you were finished it seemed like your black valve was on the grey side (to the right) and the grey valve was on the black tank side (on the left). Was that not true?
The new valve has a silver metal handle. The grey valve at the time of filming was still grey. I have replaced it recently so both valve are now metal and silver.
