💩 A Poopy Job, but somebody's got to do it. Dave straps on his gear and tackles a stinky, leaky waste valve to the RV black tank. Up to a cup of stinky water comes out when the cap is removed before opening the valves. Dave finds an easy, cheap fix.

Did you double check the glue that you used? That is ABS pipe and it needs the black ABS glue not PVC or CPVC. I hope it holds.

I like your solution but did you consider the twist on version of the gate valve so there is no cutting or glueing to install?
I didn't want that type only because it would stick out too far.

Mine are old and leaking too, but I can't fix mine this way. I need to reach back in deep and disconnect 8 bolts and remove/replace the valtera gate valves. Looking forward to that job!! NOT. LOL

I wish I would have had those arm protectors when I had to drop the underbelly to change the valve under our trailer.
Surprised how well they work. Keeps the arm bruises down a lot.
What manufacturer does this valve? What model? I think I need one for my 2016 MS Atlanta.

i have one like that on my rv but if it gets cold it will not be great for the winner
Hope to not to be anywhere when it get's that cold, but I guess I could leave it open with a cap on it or a bucket underneath it if I need to.
