Ignaize is what every marth main dreams of becoming
Problem is Marths moves so clunky that even landing a hit can be little reward, most of the time you get very little follow-ups or reward and have to win neutral several times
Not knowing when you're overextended with this character is rough because swordies usually keep advantage state pretty well but somehow not marth as easily as the others
Side b just being extremely inconsistent and easy to fall out of, especially with this having been the case in every game and for marth to have invented that form of move is even more astoundingly annoying
I dream of my Marth becoming like SephirothKen's Marth.
@aspiknf if you get hewdraw remix you can become that man's Marth..a little
It helps because that game has actual hitstun, I'm saying this not as a melee player but as an ultimate player who felt like the hitstun wasn't long enough generally...unless you played a character that in my opinion NEVER should have been in smash and only was because the devs of the crossovers were buddies back in the day

just remebered marth's default weapon is a rapier, also epee and fleuret requires you to hit your opponent with the tip of your blade to score points.

I think this is actually really sick: 0:41. He set his position way in advance before the samus jumped/aggressed back on stage and got a clean KO out of it

@@JonathanFingers You should follow up with Kreeg, Geemoney$, and Stretch. They are slowly but surely getting better. I can definitely speak for Geemoney$ as I've attended several tournaments that he played in as well. Kreeg will be playing in the Patchwork national so I hope he does well. A top 8 would be so cool.

I've always been interested in Marth, but I never saw the example of high level Marth play until right now... once you see what's possible you can believe in achieving it!

I will get loads of flak for this, but I don't think Marth deserves a Top/High Tier placement in this game, he is honestly one of the most overrated characters in Smash History other than Fox or Falco.
I might go so far as to say that his Pre Patched (Before any of his Tipper Hitbox buffs) self is one of the worst characters or the second worst Swordfighter in the game after the Mii itself.
I will say one thing though, this guy knows what he is doing. He is literally the Smash Ultimate version of LAG, except with Marth instead of Roy.
If this guy took place in any Brawl/Smash 4 tournaments, he would probably win all of them. Mkleo would be proud of this man.

Shit happens. Top players get destroyed all the time as well. You can't be cracked 100% of the time unless your first name is MK and last name is Leo.

Well thats becuase Fatality is goated and it can be a little difficult shutting down a Captain Falcons momentum as a character like Marth.
