ii didn't like One or Two but honestly there is no other musician that is creative as Vessel and II!! I love all their full length albums and I also liked When The Bough Breaks!! Sleep Token is a genre to themselves and that genre should be called The Kitchen Sink LOL

Yes. They are very game changing and innovative musicians.
Vessel sings, plays the piano and keys. Also he writes bass and guitars.
Everything except drumms.
Also he has a deep soulful voice, full of nuances and beautiful vocal runs.
THIS MAN IS A MUSICAL GENIUS!
I go nuts when haters deny his talent. Maybe not their cup of tea. But ST are awesome.
The drummer (II) is very talented too. He has an unique drumming style and mixes polirrythms with percussion.

Oh he doesn't just writes bass and guitars. He's recording them too. In the studio it's just him, the producer, and the drummer.

I seen them on May 15th in Chicago. Hearing this song live, being able to witness Vessel singing this with the 3000+ crowd singing it back to him, it literally gave me goosebumps ❤

I was there too! The thing that destroyed me was hearing The Night Does Not Belong to God to open, then Euclid to close. Obviously we knew that's how it was going to go but when it actually happened it was game over for me :')

as far as I know its still that Vessel (singer) and II (drummer) are the ones who make all the studio music, at least that's how it was in the other albums. With II on drums and Vessel doing the writing, lyrics, vocals, instruments and production. And the others join in for live shows.

The music and production/mixing is just amazing as you said. You haven’t even scratched the surface of the lyricism, use of metaphor, and especially use of callbacks.
no lie there. I think Euclid calls back 4 to 5 different songs!! one of them is from their first EP named One.
The fact that Vessel writes all the music except the drums, with such amazing sonic composition is mind blowing. Sleep Token is in their own category and echelon musically.
Speaking of doing a possible live show, Sundowning- Sleep Token in its entirety would be so sick.

First person to give the producer and his team their credit. This album is a masterpiece not by just the music but by the production. It's unbelievable
The vocalist, Vessel, does all instruments except drums!! Vessel and II are geniuses at music writing. Vessel also writes all lyrics. He has a guitarist and bassist for concerts only.

This the very song that got me into Sleep Token at the beginning of the year. I now own all 3 albums and have booked tickets to go see them at the O2 Arena in Leeds in December. They are currently my go to band. Absolutely amazing Musicianship, Lyric writing and production values. Glad you have now discovered and enjoy them too..👍👍

I believe it does the opposite. Brings pop lovers to metal, brings rappers to metal, even brings metal heads to pop and rap. Or at the very least makes them all appreciate the difference genres. They do a great job blending several music genres that really had no buissiness being fused. But they are a true Metal/pop fusion.
I don't see that you've done Chokehold yet, but when you do, there are call backs at the end of this song. Brilliant. Aqua Regia will blow your mind.

This was the first Sleep Token song I heard, and the hairs all over my body stood up. Itts exceptional, whether you are a musician or not.
Listening to the whole album from end to end, I think the whole album is about the life of a relationship. Just my take. Love this band. This song actually makes me teary in one certain spot.
Everything Sleep Token does is extremely high quality and soul-changing. I will forever sing STs praises and spiritual influence in my life!
Just assume every song is about the end and rebirth after a particularly toxic relationship and you'll get most of the meanings of their songs...lol. ALso worth noting that on the album, it is just the singer and drummer. Vessel plays almost all the instruments but drums unless they are performing live.
The uncontrollable fighting at the end is so real.

That low feedback sound you mentioned is actually the sound of an Alligator or Crocodile making a noise called "bellowing", it adds to the garden of eden theme with the birds and animal noises

Turns out you've become my favourite reaction to this track. Absolutely wonderful insight. Great break down of the little details in the song.

Bro. You wanna hear one of the most beautiful song ever created?! It's the one directly after this one on the album called "Euclid". If you want some good context before going into that song listen to "The Night does not belong to God". They tie in a handful of other songs but this one matters most as its the beginning of the whole story, where as "Euclid" is the end.

Excellent reaction with an understanding of things that are more technical giving us room to learn. ST will be on tour in Europe/UK soon. I couldn’t wait say that the band invited to open is a country “metal” band from Ohio, called Bilmuri. My suggestion is “Talkin to your Ghost”. Vessel and his crew of creatives took a pulse of US. Husband/I saw ST live 2times in 1year. Perfection! Most musical satisfaction from 2 shows in a row. We’re in our late 60’s.

ST doesn't make long songs. They are built exactly how they need to be to make you wish they were longer.

Why? Euclid should be the last track you hear after all the others. It makes little sense otherwise.
ive said it before and i say it again, Sleep Tokens music is complex but not for complexities sake, everything they do is purposeful and has its place in the music
Try Sleep Tokens Euclid. Of the 54 years of my life on this planet that song is my #1 of all time. It is the last song on the album Take Me Back To Eden. its great!!
Euclid only pays off if you have the rest of the discography behind you. You'll miss SO much if you don't know the stuff before it. Like, 50% (hyperbole) of the song is call backs.
Work up to it or you'll spoil it.
Please for the love of God and Sleep, do not do Euclid until the end. Don't lick the frosting off first and eat the cupcake last. Don't read the last chapter of a book first. Don't start a marathon at the finish line. I could go on. Just don't. What a terrible idea.

@@carriefish well I did it anyway and to be hones on both EPs One and Two combined there is only one song I liked and it was used on Euclid. There are 3 songs mentioned from this album alone and one from TPWBYT and one on Sundowning.
Also, I really think you'd dig Bilmuri, given your genre. Emptyhanded is a great one to start with :)
