    ‘Take Me Back To Eden’ album is an absolute masterpiece! I advise you to fall down the Sleep Token rabbit hole.

    ST has the ability to tap into your emotions...and that relates to alot of people..we want to feel and vessel understands exactly how to do that with every damn song! Watching them live is very spiritual...from 1st EP to the TMBTE it's none stop greatness

    I went to the New York ritual at Radio City Music Hall… I cannot overstate how absolutely gut crushing IV’s fucking guitar tone was. Especially when he brought out the 8-strings, it was absolutely devastating and you could feel it in your guts. It was amazing.

    One thing that absolutely fascinates me about the singer is his vibrato. It's so consistent yet almost fragile. He is constantly sounding like he's on a knife's edge of not being able to do it..but then nails it every time. If you watch a couple of live videos it becomes evident he's even holding back on the albums, going on these crazy vocal runs and changing up his timbre on the spot to suit the current vibe. From just listening to his technique, I'd be 90% certain he's self taught - there's almost no classical or strict jazz formula and plenty of what you'd almost call "bad" technique but it's just so so good.

      He went to college and studied music and sang in church.
      You can certainly hear in his voice he was at some stage classically trained and what he does now is his own style of doing things…It’s perfection!

      @@BINDY224 Choir boy, yes definitely. His degree is in musical composition specifically, which explains a lot but almost all of his vocal technique is the opposite of what classical training would teach. That's not a bad thing, it's only one school of vocal but given he's a natural baritone with a fully developed head voice I would pin that on choir singing.

    They did something really special with this band, not just with the trilogy of albums, but the whole project. Especially when you hear Euclid at the end of TMBTE after listening to everything.

    As a musician, you should definitely do Euclid. Ascensionism and the apparition are amazing as well but as a musician I think you’ll appreciate Euclid a lot.

    Try Vore or Gods for heavy songs of Sleep Token

  • @chrisdunlap5482
    @chrisdunlap5482 Před měsícem +6

    Vore and Gods are the 2 heaviest songs, but there are a lot that mix heavy and melodic. It's worth noting that the "band" on the album is Vessel on vocals and almost every instrument. The drummer is called ii and he helps write the songs. The guitarist and bassist (iv and iii, respectively) join them for tour and are great, but aren't part of the recording process.

    I've seen them 3x (San Diego, Pomona, Red Rocks).
    I can't explain how, but ST is even better live. You must see them.
    Heavy you say? Gods and Vore.

  • @inviz88
    @inviz88 Před měsícem +4

    They have a few heavier songs, Gods, The Offering and Vore. Mainly they just have a dark/ethereal vibe with some dark themes. My favourite song by them at the moment is High Water. Very powerful imo.

    • @bradleymartin8606
      @bradleymartin8606 Před měsícem

      The thing about Sleep Token is the totality of the lyrics, the vibe and the heaviness. I've heard many iterations of the fade-out 'big riff' ending to High Water from many great bands and some not so good. It's just that in that big ending riff, you've got the context of the song before it, and that is the reason it has tipped me over the edge to tears about 3-4 times now

    Higher and The Offering are REALLY worth checking out. 🙏🏻✨️ honestly, every track is. If you want to see them live, keep an eye on their socials for a tour announcement. If you decide to go, sign up for pre-sale ticket access and jump on it as soon as they're available. I've been lucky to see them twice, it really is a gorgeous and spiritual experience, and they put on an incredible show! But those tickets go really quick. I hope when they come back to the states, you decide to go see them! Subbed, thank you for the genuine and fantastic reactions. 🫶🏻

    Hope you do some of the new Bilmuri tracks, they’re opening for Sleep Token in a few months in the UK and EU. I’m curious to hear a country music singer’s perspective on it, especially Emptyhanded ft. Dylan Marlowe, but Talking 2 Ur Ghost and 2016 Cavaliers (Ohio) are great choices too. The entire album is fantastic tbh, tracking to be my number 2 AOTY behind BMTH.
