I'm 68 but this 70s compilation has made me feel like a 20 year old again! I can't help but bop around to the beat! So many of these songs take me back to particular places and the people I was with at that time. Better than any blood pressure pills or statins!

I'm not 100% sure , but if I remember rightly , Matt used to sing in a pub called the Favourite , in Hornsey Rise , London , anyway my old mum and dad knew him probably from there , and I used to sit outside in my dads cab with a lemonade and crisps where you had a little blue bag of salt , and when mum passed away , she had 2 of Matt's song played at her funeral , My Kind Of Girl ,and Portrait Of My Love , he really was a great singer , and when he was in hospital Sinatra came to pay his respect , that shows how good he was
The pub (demolished 25 years ago) is probably right. Matt's (mum and siblings) family lived on Hornsey Rise. However, Sinatra didn't visit Matt. They never met! He did send him a get well telegram "from one boy singer to another".

This song reminds me of something I said to a mate (best mate ) 40 years ago . I had just started to see this lady after a crap divorce and a hateful ex wife , I’m not the guilty party here . I had been going out with her for about six months great women love being with her so different to what I was used too polite loving and great to be with .
I was getting a lot of crap from the ex trying to stop me seeing my daughter ect , it was starting to get to me so I said to him , look going to have to finish with her it’s going to get in the way of us . He told me no she will stay in there and it’s 41 years later and she is still here .
My ex came to our place once to see her daughter with her bloke that she was seeing when she was with me her now husband, she said to me that I had a great life I said no love I have a fantastic life and I still do .
My wife is the best person in the world I love her very much .
