This is my favorite instrumental song since the day I found it...it always gives me goosebumps, I always feel so much while listening to it, my father passed away yesterday and it still feel so weird to type this...and I could not cry until now while listening to this, thank you so much for sharing this.

Life is like a piece of waltz , sometimes soft, and sometimes hard. All the dynamics that make everyone’s life so different.

I learnt this beautiful waltz when I was in boarding school in England.
It brings back distant and nostalgic memories…
I must admit (LOL), Krystian Zimmerman plays it much better than l did (I am now a neonatologist. When l learnt this quiet, very sensitive waltz, l was in my late teens.)

Beautiful! I love the feelings embedded in the way the pianist played this song!

Probably my favourite interpretation that I have yet found (after looking at about a dozen). One or two pianists play too fast, some too slow, quite a few over-embroider it. He gets the balance right for me, simple and delicate and a good rhythm. (It can work faster too, Ashkenazy plays it nicely at a faster tempo, also a favourite performance for me).
I play this myself and it is not at all a technically hard piece, I wonder if some pros feel the need to do something special and different, and forget it is a waltz and needs to be danceable!

Ashkenazy is my other favorite Chopin interpreter. I like this guy the best.

Chopins waltzes were not meant to dance on... according to wiki.. Frédéric Chopin's waltzes are pieces of moderate length adhering to the traditional 3/4 waltz time, but are remarkably different from the earlier Viennese waltzes in that they were not designed for dancing but for concert performance

@@DennisDJSaklakNot that old chestnut! Yes many waltzes were show pieces, but this waltz is very simple structurally and danceable, played naturally. Chopin's own sister used Chopin's waltzes for dance music too (though from correspondence she knew her brother might disapprove... a bit).

Very good, I usually just listen to this piece while my daughter reads. My daughter plays piano and is learning this piece right now!

I do hope that your daughter learns this (B minor waltz) soon. It is a beautiful waltz and not as technically difficult as most of the other Chopin waltzes.

I remember the days I used to have my Sims playing the piano all day just to listen to this piece when I did not know its name.

He's mixing Fontana and autograph versions, funny.
    Played soberly, and quietly.

Yes - and it's almost exactly the way I play it! The same notes, anyway, and in the same order, maybe the quality is not the same!

This pianist 'gets' Chopin. I love his interpretations. Very emotional, but not too emotional.
