Angra is the band that inspired many metal bands around the world, it always had great musicians (Kiko Loureiro guitarist was hired for Megadeth). First album is turning 30 this year. Angra is a Brazilian band with over 30 years of career and together with Sepultura they are the best known around the world for heavy sound. the band has gone through 3 member formations over the past 30 years with 3 different vocalists. His musical references to create the band as said by the first vocalist (Andre Matos) are Helloween, Queen, Iron Maiden, Queensryche among others. all phases of the band are good, my favorites are with Andre Matos, who passed away in 2019. Note: listen to the solos of a guy called Kiko Loureiro who nowadays plays in a band called Megadeth by a guy named Dave Mustaine.
He was also singer in a one album and done (unfortunately) called symfonia! Had a stratovarius feel to the band thanks to guitarist Timo Tolkki's presence
Angra is one of the very top power metal bands, you can hear a lot of their influence in the Japanese scene, from Lovebites and Unlucky Morpheus on down!
Yeah the leather pants were great but come on man you didn't address the elephant in the room those guys all had fantastic hair and the use of the wind machines was brilliant
