    Literally watched this yesterday, and didn’t say anything to my husband. Today while at work, he calls me to say he found your boat sitting our favorite Seattle marina…. He had no idea that you’d sold it and sent me a pic. The boom still has your name, but the boats’ has changed. Can’t wait to watch your new journey, we have a three year countdown to sail away.

    It's nice to know that folks lookout for eachothers boats when your away. Very nice indeed.
    I can only imagine how you felt when your boat was being lifted on to the shipping boat. It was intense just watching it.
    Now it's time to start a new adventure w/your new faster boat. Looking forward to seeing that stage of this new project.
    Have a wonderful day, God bless,
    Chris from Missouri

    Good lesson that fresh water floats on salt - I'd have made the same error and thought it was fresh (although alot of it!) hauling it out seems like the bst plan well done! Must have been an odd experience leaving the boat you've been living on for so long! looking forward to seeing DS4 being built!

    Wow, that was very interesting seeing DCIII loaded onto the ship. Red Baron usually gets hoisted 20 feet but not 40!! Too bad about the Dutch boat sinking but it looks like they left in a hurry and leaving the bilge pumps turned off was taking a big risk. Have fun.in the BVI. Great memories of 2017.

    Wow! Seems like y'all just had 3 built a couple years ago.. now comes 4. Awesome, love the choice though for 4, aluminum is much more suitable to expedition exploration than any other man made materials. I learned when wood gets wet it freezes and by doing so it becomes heavier than you want lol. Anyhow, please show all the nitty gritty details please, I wanna see all that can be done to make her a rock solid vessel!

    Is there a way to get a rough price on what the cost is to ship the yacht? I imagine it is based on pick up and delivery locations, and also the size of the yacht.

    • @DistantShoresTV
      @DistantShoresTV  Před 2 lety +1

      Its based on the size of the yacht most of all since that's how much deck space it will take. For Distant Shores III Panama to Victoria Canada was over $24,000US.

    Do you have recommendations on yacht transport companies or the method of selecting one?

    • @DistantShoresTV
      @DistantShoresTV  Před 2 lety

      Hi Harley, I would recommend a close look over the contract and talk with the sales reps. Some seemed to over-present their offer. They are trying to assemble a bunch of yachts for their route then chartering a ship to fit them all. Very few actually own the ship. If you wanted to ship from Europe (say NL :-) to US west coast then I think they would be actually shipping from EU to US east coast then a second leg from onward to destination. Have you considered sailing to Caribbean then shipping on from there?

    • @harleysoltes
      @harleysoltes Před 2 lety

      We are signed up for ARC Plus but also looking at Plan B just in case. Never know with pandemics and politics what can happen. Most brokers recommend 7 Star as they run their own ships.
