Like the yarn I used? The Main color is "Ogre" in Primo Sock from The Plucky Knitter. The Toe color is "Sixties Blue" in BFL Tweed Fingering from Little Lionhead Knits.
I also refreshed my dining room this week! I used "Lulworth Blue" from Farrow & Ball for the wall color! Dave did breadboard on the bottom of the walls, and board and batten on top. The drapes I sewed myself years ago, and the furniture is all thrifted!

I so enjoyed seeing the various iterations of your dining room. You must have a very patient husband to redo it that many times. Loved all of them!❤ I am so turned on by all your socks. I love socks and definitely have to learn to knit them as the stitches are finer than crochet, which is my mode of choice. I LOVE crochet!!! Hi Summer, OK I want to be like you and have a dresser full of socks. I come to realize that I am just plain old afraid. Why? I don't even know. I do know that it would be easier to make my own socks, that way I would have different styles, designs, long, shorties you name it. I think once I make my first single sock, I will be okay. I am just going to have to just jump right on it regardless. I love the dinning room and the color.
Ok as an owner of the Ode to Barbara socks, can I say it feels like Christmas??? I love the Ode to Barbara socks and now I feel like I got an entirely new pattern! Already downloaded it, so I’m gonna go find some yarn to use for it now.

Can't wait for the sock design video next week. I love your podcasts. I used to live in a very old house, and understand the remodel. We did quite a bit of changing. Your mural reminded me of a 'mom' story. My mother loved beautiful things and she really didn't care what she had to do. She was good at refinishing furniture. She painted everything, and she put a 'colonial' themed mural up in our dining room. She didn't like the colors, and they didn't match the color scheme. SO she bought oil pastels and re colored the whole mural. I don't remember much more than that, but it took her forever. She finished it, we all thought it looked fine. My favorite mural was one we put up in our home. It was a world map. I loved it. Today so many country names have changed, the USSR is no longer-so it would be sadly outdated. I am happily knitting socks and waiting for my copy of your book to escape Amazon's back order!

If you stacked all your pairs of socks sideways you could see them all at a glance and not have to keep pulling them all out to find the ones you wanted.
I always thought the name of these socks was a reference to Barbara Walker, lol.

I have purchased your book, which by the way is real eye candy - I “plan’ to knit every sox pattern in the book. I have several knitting booked in my library, but can honestly say I have never read them cover to cover like I have done with your book. So informative and entertaining. It seems so scary at first! I was blown away when I realized it's actually easier than cables (for me anyway) to knit!
I am waiting with great anticipation for your book. I still haven´t gotten the shipped message. Wouldn´t it be easier to keep your socks in the drawer on their sides so you could see at a glance all of them? It seems that when you pile them up in a stack, it makes it more likely the piles will become disorganized, that you would have more trouble finding the socks you want. Despite the issues with the house, yours looks lovely.
You know what's funny, I used to keep them on their side in baskets in my old house! Not sure why I didn't do that here, because you're right - so much easier to see and pull out the ones I need!

You and I have a house situation in common ! I bought an 1884 house remotely in 2022 that was “remodeled” by a company in the area. The company turned out to be one guy who decided to try flipping houses. Electrical, plumbing and doors needed repair, floors are extremely sloped and now exterior trim paint has started peeling.
Onward and upward !

I am fairly new to knitting socks. Your socks are so beautiful! I do have a question though.....how do you make your socks look so soft and flimsy? Mine look stiff, I am using Knipicks Hawthorne fingerings and using a 2.25mm needle.
