Love that she's a Kate Bush fan. Also cool to hear her mention underrated artists like Joan Armatrading and Miriam Makeba.
Interesting, I never considered either JA or MM as underrated. KB is OK, but FA is in her own league, and possibly her own genre.
Kate Bush and Fiona are two of my absolute faves so to hear one mention the other was really heartwarming.

Your lyrics have always hit way close to home with me. Maybe it's because we are around the same age, maybe we had similar taste in men, or stumbled down similar roads. But sometimes it feels like you're in my head screaming all the shit I want to. And there's no way to thank you for all the times you've peeled me off the floor to give life another shot. Often it stems from your oh so relatable anger and frustration with the way things are but regardless its kept me going more times than I can count. So thank you!! And although social media is not your favorite t-shirt, I, along with many others I'm sure really enjoy seeing your face!!! .. and a bit of the real you that most of your dedicated fans already felt like they knew. I saw Fiona Apple first perform in August of 1997 at Lilith Fair. I was in college and she made a gigantic impression on me. I have been a fan ever since. Now I actually listen to her music with my teenage daughters. They are huge fans and both play the piano and sing. Fiona, if you do read this, I think you are amazing.

I'm scared of social media too. CZcams is the place I post to the most, just comments.. that's it. I have Instagram and FB accounts but I rarely post. Social anxiety can be horrible at times and I know I'm not alone in this.
Hi wendy. I guess no one asked for this youtube instag...etc shit. But its imposition. You can detach yourself..but its strange.The huge mistake was adding google and youtube to cell phones. I don’t blame you. It is unwise to share personal details of your life with total strangers.
On Instagram, I only say I like a photo. Otherwise, it’s iffy. And I’m done with FB. They sell your data to third party advertisers without your knowledge or approval! That should be illegal but I guess it isn’t. I’m didn’t give them any information and will not use them again.
CZcams is owned by Google. Smart purchase on their part. I prefer CZcams. Good Luck!
I also think Fiona might be too sensitive a person for social media. You might get 90 people that like you or your music but then she has to deal with the 10 who don’t or might say nasty things. It might Not be worth it.
You better have a thick skin or be able to ignore the trolls or naysayers. It’s a mixed bag. It’s not all positive!

Fiona's not just really good, she's absolutely brilliant.
Some of us get lost in time. (Or as Rip Torn puts it in Defending Your Life, "Trapped near the inner circle of thought.") I don't just love your music. (I do, I really, really do.) Your songs help me locate myself-- like those tricks you describe in an earlier video, attempting to lucid dream, except they actually work. Putting "Oh Well" on repeat, or jeez, just shivering when I think of the opening chords of "The Child is Gone" or-- you get the idea, I could just fall into virtually any track of yours and feel less displaced, less alone, less alien, even if I maybe feel a lingering pang of-- melancholy? Bittersweetness? Because an artist I love and perhaps a million others like me share a sort of essential human aching that lends the world a peculiar shine. Anyway, thanks for keeping in touch. You are so loved.
